In Berlin monuments will no longer be lit up at night and, in Hanover, showers at public pools and sports centres will be cold with no hot water being provided. This is in the hope of saving gas for the cold months. What action will the UK take to ensure households don't go cold this winter?

Today's Mishal Husain spoke to our Berlin correspondent, Jenny Hill about Germany's striking energy reducing measures. Mishal also spoke with chairman of energy supplier, Utilita's Derek Lickorish and chair of the committee on Fuel Poverty which advises government, Caroline Flint about how the UK should be responding to the energy crisis.
