True Romance follows Clarence Worley (Christian Slater) and Alabama Worley (Patricia Arquette) as they try to start a new life with the funds from a major coke deal. How hard can it be right? Written by Quentin Tarantino, with large parts taken from his early 16mm B&W short My Best Friends Birthday and directed by Top Gun director Tony Scott; its “the best film Quentin Tarantino never made.” says Mark Kermode: (Observer, UK). Note: Throughout the podcast Kris refers to My Best Friends Birthday as My Best Friend’s Wedding because Kris is stupid and has never experienced ether a birthday, wedding or best friend :P

Before he was Shrek, Eddy Murphy was Billy Ray Valentine, a poor down on his luck rogue who couldn’t catch a break. Things all changed when he bumped into Louis Winthrop III (Dan Aykroyd) and a hilarious rag to riches comedy of errors unfolded. Trading Places is classic 80’s humor that Almar Halfildason of BBC.com called “one of the best comedies of the 1980s, featuring a cast at the height of their powers.”

Russell Crowe and Christian Bale face of in this remake of the classic 1957 western 3:10 to Yuma. Will Dan Evens (Bale) get Ben Wade (Crowe) on the train? Will Charlie Prince (Ben Foster) shoot and kill everyone to free Wade? Will Scott love this movie simply because it has a family in it? The only thing we know for sure is Kris will complain about pacing and execution because he is a cry baby.

Would you watch a black and white movie in 2021? What if it had John David Washington (Ballers, Tenet)? Is that a maybe? What if we threw in Zendaya (The Greatest Showman, Euphoria) and writer/director/producer Sam Levinson (Euphoria, Assassination Nation)? Still not sure? Ok, how about with extreme closeups of mac and cheese? I knew you would see it our way.

Pairing neon bubble gum imagery, an orchestra version of Britney Spears's Toxic and a dark and a brooding Carey Mulligan; Promising Young Woman is not only a must see movie but a must see over and over. A film so powerful and layered that Scott called it “Haunting” and led to the shows first guest; American producer, writer and actor Ally Iseman.

Ally Iseman is a modern triple threat actor, writer, and co-founder of the digital educational platform and consulting company Film Launch. A Finalist in the 2020 WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Competition and Top 3 writer on The Bitch List 2020. Ally wrote and created the gender parity comedy series Flip The Script starring Lake Bell, Amy Landecker, Michaela Watkins, Rob Huebel, Jeff Garlin and others, which became Women In Film’s first original content.

Due to some technical issues, mainly Scott unable to run the show alone. We are re-releasing one of our prior episodes.

What happens when you take the technicolor daydreams of a teenage boy, one of the worlds greatest character actors (Gary Oldman),wrap them all in Jean Paul Gaultier and give them a 90 million dollar budget (oh and throw in Milla Jovovich, Bruce Willis and Chris Tucker)?

Do you like Melissa McCarthy? Do you like that guy that is always in her films ( Ben Falcone, her husband)?, have you been hoping that their production company On the Day Productions would make a movie about Skynet from Terminator, that has the voice of that lovable british scamp James Corden? If so; your dreams are coming up Milhouse.

In this corner, from 1976, the undisputed heavyweight champ; Rocky! On this episode Scott and Kris spare it out over the film that spawned a franchise and turned Sylvester Stallone into a house hold name.  Its 57 on the AFI's 100 years of 100 movies but its number one in our hearts.

You were expecting another cool episode about a movie weren't you? Well its the holidays and Scott is doing family stuff, because that's what Scott does; and Kris is just lazy so you got this instead.  In this short episode (and the first of 2021) Scott and Kris fight over the AT&T/Warner Brothers decision to release a slate of their films directing on their streaming service HBO Max.
