Get Over Here (Please): Mortal Kombat 2021

This week we're talking movies, we're talking Mortal Kombat - the 2021 reboot of the 1995 film franchise. Based on the 1992 arcade classic from midway games, this film spent two decades in development hell due to the lacklustre performance of the 1997 film; Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Man... 20 years is a long time and according to Kris that’s about how long it felt to him watching this flick, pff does he even know good movies when he sees them? Tune in to find out.

That's it it's all over for the 93 Oscars. We threw together a fast and furious episode to give you our thoughts on every category and winner from this year's awards show. Oh, and Kris had to say Scott was right a lot, and we mean a lot :P

“Inspired by the 2005 riots in Paris, LES MISÉRABLES – directed by Ladj Ly – follows Stéphane (Damien Bonnard), a recent transplant to the impoverished suburb of Montfermeil, as he joins the local anti-crime squad.” It's like a French Training Day.

When life goes to shit because you made a stupid decision over a girlfriend, what do you do? You shoot heroin, rob banks, and write a f..king NY Times bestselling novel that’s what you do. Then you get the Russo brothers to make their version of a student film out of your book while you count your cash. It will also be staring one of the Spiderman actors.

Kris and Scott kick step to the hip-hop cult classic House Party.

The biggest night in Hollywood this year is April 25th, 2021. The 93rd Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, but you don't have to wait 'til then to find out who wins.

Check out this week's show and listen to Scott and Kris break down their picks for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Male), Best Actor (Female) and secret wild card spots.

On this week’s show Scott and Kurt (the host of The Top 5 Film Dive) gang up on Kris. They will try to convince him that Sergio Leone isn’t the only director deserving of a four-hour film and that Ben Affleck should keep acting; spoiler alert they will fail!

This week Scott and Kris go round and round over the classic 1958 film: Vertigo. Based on the French novel D'entre les morts (From Among the Dead), the Master of Suspense Alfred Hitchcock creates a surreal picture of a man driven mad with obsession.
