For this Bonus Episode we take to the sky with Co-Host Matt Borders as we look at the often romantized aspect of the the First World War, the Air War! We've trudeged through the mud and the blood of the trenches in both Season 2 and 3, but now we will look at some of the most iconic and unique flying machines ever to grace the sky.
Prior to soaring though, we had to climb. As such we will take a few minutes to set the stage, looking at early uses of air power in both the US and Europe prior to the First World War. You will no doubt recognize some of the names, the Wright's and Curtis for example, but many others may be new to you. All of this building towards the explosion of aerial innovation and the tragedy of modern warfare that occured in World War One!
