The second of a series of five theme talks on 'Between the Dreaming and the Coming True'. Daniel Costley, husband of one and father of two. With unfulfilled dreams of becoming an astronaut or rockstar, Daniel instead turned to strategic and financial planning, and served time as a policy adviser in Gordon Brown's Treasury. However, with spectacular misjudgement on financial sustainability he chose instead to follow the third career dream - Ministry. Following studies at Exeter and Oxford, Daniel was called to the Sevenoaks Unitarian congregation in 2010 and will take on four further Unitarian congregations in Kent later this year. Currently Chair of the General Assembly's Ministry Strategy Group, this is Daniel's first time at Summer School.

The first of a series of five theme talks on 'Between the Dreaming and the coming True'. Sheena says: "Raised in the Pentecostal church, I discovered Unitarians 19 years ago. In 2009 I became Lay leader at Godalming Unitarians, and after training at Oxford, became their minister. Prior to this I worked as a tutor in further education, group facilitator in psychiatric and palliative care, and counsellor within the NHS. With a qualification in person-centred art therapy I am interested in the link between creativity and spirituality. Inspired by Carl Jung, I am passionate about the wisdom of nocturnal dreams - having kept a dream journal for 25 years, and exploring dreams creatively through art. I have attended summer school a number of times - both as participant and workshop leader - and it has played a transformative part in my spiritual journey."

The fifth of a series of five theme talks on 'The Authentic Self'. Celia Cartwright says: "I'm Celia. I enjoy life, love people, especially my friends and my children, and try to be kind. I live in Kendal in beautiful Cumbria and serve the hard-working congregation as minister. I have three getting-elderly rescue dogs and four cold-water fish. I knit, read novels, read enlightening works, write, listen to music, watch TV... and walk dogs!"

The fourth of a series of five theme talks on 'The Authentic Self'. Ralph Catts has recently completed training for Unitarian ministry and was the student pastor at Unitarian Meeting, Birmingham from September 2013 to the end of June 2014. He is a dual UK and Australian citizen. He came from Australia to live in the UK in 2004 to take up an academic post at the University of Stirling. He is a member of the Glasgow Unitarians. He became a Unitarian in 2001 after having studied the Dharma part-time for three years and continues to meditate as a core part of his spiritual practice.

Michael Dadson says "Recently asked to identify my 'denominational allegiance(s)' over the years, I put 'Anglican becoming Jewish becoming Agnostic becoming Taoist'; quite a journey from being a parish-church-attending boy scout in Macclesfield, to being a Unitarian Minister and Morris Man here some 35 years later! But what lies within? Isn't that the question?"

Maria Curtis was a forces child and her physically mobile childhood was reflected in her spiritual mobility; baptised and confirmed at 9, she became atheist at the age of 11. Professional movement took her through work in residential care to a degree in Philosophy; through teaching in Bristol to an MSc in Psychology; through a research doctorate to return to teaching as a dyslexia specialist. Having become a mum, Maria fulfilled her aim of becoming an Educational Psychologist, and spent 20 years doing that work in Sussex. She found Unitarianism in 2005 and hasn't looked back; instead, as a newly qualified Minister, she is looking forward to a new movement in her spiritual and professional symphony!

The first of a series of five theme talks on 'The Authentic Self'. Jane Blackall has been a member of Kensington Unitarians since 1999, and has been a great enthusiast for summer school ever since then, attending every year from 2000 to 2012 and being a member of the organising panel for eight years. Having previously worked in academic research in the field of medical imaging and radiological sciences, Jane changed direction entirely in 2007, and now works part-time with Kensington Unitarians on outreach, arts, and education projects, whilst also studying Philosophy, Religion, and Ethics at Heythrop College. In between work, study, and mucking about on the internet, Jane enjoys baking, birdwatching and craftwork, and is a keen armchair spectator of cycling.

The fifth of a series of five theme talks on 'Living at the Edge'. Rev. Winnie Gordon began her Unitarian life at Birmingham New Meeting Church, when late 2006, she walked through the doors and found her spiritual and theological community. Fast forward to the 2014, Winnie once again walked through their doors, however this time called to serve as their Minister. She has co-facilitated programme workshops three times at Summer School, and serves the Unitarian wider community as the WSC Course Administrator. Winnie believes that her outlook on life, living with thanksgiving for what we have in the now, is influenced by her diverse family ethnicity, education and employment. From working as a car valet, school bus driver, to Corrections Officer, Maths Lecturer and now Minister, she hopes you enjoy her diverse view of Living on the Edge.

The fourth of a series of five theme talks on 'Living at the Edge'. Rev. Jim Corrigall is Minister to Unitarian congregations in Padiham and Rawtenstall for the Lancashire Collaborative Ministry. Before this, he served for two years as interim minister at Ipswich and Framlingham. Jim's first career was journalism - he took early retirement from BBC World Service in 2007, and later trained for the ministry at Oxford. Originally from South Africa, Jim has lived most of his life in Britain. He was active in anti-apartheid work for many years - and then as a trade unionist. Jim joined the Unitarians as a spiritual seeker in 2003, after (almost) a lifetime as an atheist. He has written widely for Unitarian publications, and was editor of the 'Liberal Christian Herald' for three years, until 2012.

The third of a series of five theme talks on 'Living at the Edge'. Kate Dean (previously Kate Buchanan) is in her final year of Unitarian ministry training at Harris Manchester College, Oxford. The training includes an MA in Abrahamic Religions in London, where she lives. She is a member of Rosslyn Hill Chapel in Hampstead, which was the first Unitarian congregation she discovered several years ago. She was the student pastor for the Oxford Unitarians as part of her training and has been a member of the HSS planning panel for four years. Before becoming a student (again), Kate worked for two youth charities and is the co-author of Intergen, a GA resource for intergenerational Unitarian worship. She is convinced that providing Unitarian activities for all ages is the key to the future of the movement.
