Meet our youngest guest (yet), Asher Yearout. It was a wonderful opportunity and my absolute honour to have this open conversation with Asher about his Chapter, Empower Dyslexia Student Edition. The history of International Women's Day commenced in the 1900s and has sought out to highlight and act on a number of pertinent issues including women's rights to work, gender equality, education, human rights, and so on.

I had the absolute honour of engaging in conversation with my grandma, Vijaya Ben and mum, Nina to discuss grandma's story. Gran discussed her childhood in India, her limited formal education, the migration to Kenya after her arranged marriage, the transition to a new way of life, and so forth. This conversation may be confronting (and possibly difficult to imagine) for some; however, it is interlaced with strength, resilience, courage, fearlessness, and love.

Both women may have had different narratives; however, they are truly remarkable in the qualities of strength and empowerment they possess. Having 3 generations present during one conversation was an absolute gift and one I hold dear to my heart. Having the good fortune of discussing the past, present, and future for women in my family has been a deeply reflective process and one that will be ongoing for future generations.

I was privileged and honoured to have had an opportunity to discuss Allan's Chapter, Discoveries. Coincidentally, Allan's hometown, Dundee (in Scotland) means The City of Discovery. Allan takes us through his journey of Discovery by articulating a time when working in various careers lacked meaning; a clear moment of what fulfillment looked like when he was an observer; his opportunity to migrate to Australia; the commencement of his Discovery journey within a role (in the Disability sector) that provided the meaning he was searching for; and how this journey has unfolded. From the multiple points that deeply resonated with me, Allan mentioned his Utopic world would have a role & space for every individual and this created a heartfelt delight.
