It was an absolute honour to have an opportunity to discuss Chandni's Chapter, Transition into Motherhood. Chandni takes us through her unique journey of what Motherhood had in store for her. Chandni's journey includes a number of medical diagnoses, her response to these, the challenges, the pregnancies, her passion for health and fitness, and so on. During our conversation, one thing (amongst the host of others) that resonated deeply was how exercise saved her life. Chandni can be found on Instagram, @chronicworkoutjunkie.
Thank you for taking the time to openly share your Chapter and a huge thanks in advance to all of our listeners. Please share it with those that may connect with the conversation. ๐
Meet our youngest guest (yet), Asher Yearout. It was a wonderful opportunity and my absolute honour to have this open conversation with Asher about his Chapter, Empower Dyslexia Student Edition. Asher takes us through his journey of receiving a Dyslexia diagnosis, the causes for concern, the remediation, and his current accommodations. Listening to Asher's insights and personal experience added to broadening my understanding and provided some food for thought. Asher has recently started his own show where he talks to people about their professional and/or personal experiences. He can be found on Empower Dyslexia (Instagram, YouTube, and any other Podcast platform).

Having the conversation with Saloni about her Chapter, Stay At Home Mum was an incredible honour. Saloni generously shared insights, details, and experiences about her journey before and during motherhood. She particularly shared about her career before becoming a parent, the various decisions she and her significant other were required to make when they decided to have a family, and her journey thus far. During the conversation, I took away a number of important points and one of which was making decisions that individuals are comfortable with as opposed to being influenced/pressured by others.
Feel free to share this conversation with others that may resonate with it and thanks in advance for taking the time to watch it. ๐
The history of International Women's Day commenced in the 1900s and has sought out to highlight and act on a number of pertinent issues including women's rights to work, gender equality, education, human rights, and so on.
I had the absolute honour of engaging in conversation with my grandma, Vijaya Ben and mum, Nina to discuss grandma's story. Gran discussed her childhood in India, her limited formal education, the migration to Kenya after her arranged marriage, the transition to a new way of life, and so forth. This conversation may be confronting (and possibly difficult to imagine) for some; however, it is interlaced with strength, resilience, courage, fearlessness, and love.
Both women may have had different narratives; however, they are truly remarkable in the qualities of strength and empowerment they possess. Having 3 generations present during one conversation was an absolute gift and one I hold dear to my heart. Having the good fortune of discussing the past, present, and future for women in my family has been a deeply reflective process and one that will be ongoing for future generations.
A very Happy International Women's Day to everyone celebrating it. Feel free to share this conversation ๐!
I was privileged and honoured to have had an opportunity to discuss Allan's Chapter, Discoveries. Coincidentally, Allan's hometown, Dundee (in Scotland) means The City of Discovery. Allan takes us through his journey of Discovery by articulating a time when working in various careers lacked meaning; a clear moment of what fulfillment looked like when he was an observer; his opportunity to migrate to Australia; the commencement of his Discovery journey within a role (in the Disability sector) that provided the meaning he was searching for; and how this journey has unfolded. From the multiple points that deeply resonated with me, Allan mentioned his Utopic world would have a role & space for every individual and this created a heartfelt delight. Allan's key takeaways included - demonstrate empathy & kindness, and engage in authentic conversations with people (even if it's just a greeting).
Thanks in advance for taking the time to watch this Chapter and feel free to share it with anyone that may resonate with it. ๐
It was an absolute delight and honour to host Heshan Fernando for a conversation about his Chapter, The Model Man. This conversation sought breadth and depth by connecting Heshan's current Chapter to past experiences and future aspirations. Heshan takes us on a journey of his childhood experiences, challenges at home, the relationship with his dad, unique spiritual experiences, and the conception & birth of The Model Man. Throughout the conversation, a number of points resonated with me, and one that stood out most was 'Free of mind, heart, and spirit'. Some of Heshan's key takeaways include:
- take responsibility
- live a life you love and surround yourself with people who allow you to do so
Thanks in advance for taking the time to watch and engage with this Chapter. Share it with those that resonate and follow Heshan on Facebook and Instagram on The Model Man. ๐

I have frequently wondered about an individual's journey in embracing their sexuality and in particular, ones from various ethnic groups and cultures. A huge vote of gratitude to Arjun Haria for sharing his Chapter, Complexities of Culture and the Birth of Dancing Queen. Arjun openly shares his journey in embracing his sexuality, the complexities tied to culture & community, the unfolding of this journey in Australia, and embracing the phrase, Dancing Queen. This ongoing Chapter was interlaced with periods of challenges, strength, resilience, compassion, and authenticity. Arjun refers to the passing of a recent bill for conversion therapy and this can be found on https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3584647078301025&id=714959965269765.

"Save the childhood and reclaim our parenthood" stood out strongly amongst a forest of deeply meaningful ones. It was an absolute delight having an in-depth conversation based on Jinita Desai's Chapter, Bless the Mess. Jinita delves into a few aspects within this broad chapter - her passion for providing her son with a simplistic yet holistic childhood enveloped with creativity, nature & environmental resources, and marrying it with the 21st-century communication skills that benefit the wider community of children and youth. Jinita's key takeaways include
- Never stop exploring
- Cultivate intrinsic qualities such as kindness & compassion
- Continue blessing the messes
- Time will never be adequate, however, increase the quality of that time
- Let your inner child out

Engaging with Tania Capel instantly transported me to my birth country, Kenya, and brought about a rush of heart-felt memories, feelings, passions, and goosebumps. It was incredibly delightful to hear Tania's Chapter, The Migration Journey. Tania lived in 8 different countries prior to settling in Germany. Despite the number of locations, Africa is home to her. She beautifully expresses her love for Africa, her passions (including people, culture, food, travel, and connection), the difficult times, and her business, Swahili Secrets. To Tania, being African means kindness, warmth, and simplicity.

It was an absolute pleasure to discuss Ami Laurenโs Chapter, Animals and Lifestyle Choices. We delve into Ami's passion for animals, when this calling began and how it's unfolded for her in terms of opportunities (as a child and adult), lifestyle choices (nutrition, material consumption, etc), health, and so on. I personally loved some of Ami's key takeaways - educating ourselves about the environment & food products and it's all about the little changes.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to engage with this Chapter and Ami is happy to be contacted via Facebook or Instagram ( @amilaurenpositivity ) for any follow-up questions/ a chat.
