This value-filled and heartfelt conversation embarks on Stephen Yearout's chapter, Dyslexia. During our conversation, Stephen eloquently articulated his journey of Dyslexia, the internal struggles, the continual fight, and deep insights into his childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. A couple of quotes that resonated deeply with me were: 'Once you learn to read, you'll be free forever' and 'The road to poverty, prison, or the graveyard could be changed if a child can learn to read'.

Stephen is the creator of an incredible platform, Empower Dyslexia, where he interviews and has conversations with a range of individuals (experts, family members, community members, etc.) to highlight research, interventions, special education policy, and so on.

It was an absolute honour to have a conversation with Onyango Otieno aka Rixpoet about his chapter, Afro Masculinity. Onyango is a poet, storyteller, writer, and podcaster (among other roles). He started an incredible podcast, Afro Masculinity during Covid-19 and his passion for this platform is palpable. Onyango provides us with details about his journey and vision for his podcast from its conception. He provides us with incredibly unique and open insights into the African male history, his childhood, family, afro masculinity complexities, and so on. I had a wonderful opportunity to have an in-depth conversation with Hugo about his Chapter, Transitions between 18-22. Hugo articulates significant transitions based on the following themes in his journey: commencement of the tertiary education, navigating through the web of social connections and its complexities, morphing of friendships between the ages of 18-22, a glimpse into various facets of mental health and well-being (meaning and purpose, anxiety, depression), societal pressures, and the concept of identity/ies.
