What if accessibility isn’t simply about compliance—but about making sure more people can fully participate in the world?
In this episode of Human Enough, I sit down with Maxwell Ivey, known around the world as The Blind Blogger, an accessibility expert, writer, speaker, entrepreneur, and founder of The Accessibility Advantage.
Maxwell’s story is anything but ordinary. His journey has taken him from owning a carnival to brokering amusement park rides, becoming a life goals coach and online media publicist, and eventually finding his purpose in accessibility and inclusion.
After losing his vision, Maxwell chose not to hide from his challenges. Instead, he began sharing his story publicly, educating businesses about accessibility, traveling across the country independently, appearing on hundreds of podcasts, writing books, speaking at conferences, and even overcoming his fear of singing in public.
But beneath all of those accomplishments is a deeper philosophy: interdependence, self-determination, determined positivity, honest storytelling, and continuing to move forward.
Together, we explore what it really means to live with adversity without allowing it to define the limits of your life—and why accessibility isn’t only good for disabled people. It can create better products, better experiences, stronger relationships, and better businesses for everyone.
This is a conversation about disability, resilience, inclusion, courage, identity, purpose, and what it means to keep moving forward when life doesn’t give you the circumstances you expected.
