Like many Americans, Nico paid for a degree that he had no passion for, accepted a job just to have one, and fell into a state of unhappy contentment with his life. In an attempt to gain some real life experience, Nico quit corporate life and traveled around Asia and South America, where he ultimately rediscovered his passion for storytelling.

The religion I was raised in had no tolerance for homosexuality. When I did finally come out, my family was convinced that there was a gay demon inside of me and the only way to save my soul was to put me through an exorcism.

Earlier this year, I reconnected with one of the pastors involved in that traumatic experience, someone I grew up with, someone I once called a great friend. It's been over 20 years since we've seen each other, but this weekend we finally broke bread together and made amends.

If I can forgive my exorcist, think about what grudges you can let go.

As far as human realness goes, this is about as real as it gets!

Tori Gleason is a member of the trans community that grew up as a 3-sport star athlete in small-town Kansas, all the while knowing that her hardware didn’t match her software. Tori is a DEI Educator,  licensed chiropractor, and a Masters student of Public Health at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita with the goal of researching on health outcomes in the trans and non-binary populations.
