Humming Fools

It's been said “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life," but in Kyle & Noah's humble opinion, that's a bunch of baloney! No matter how great your job or dream is, there’s gonna be stuff about it you don’t like. Agree? Disagree? For more questions and some answers (debatable), join us as we discuss “The Art of Doing Things You Hate.”

SHOW NOTES:

Comic mentioned by Kyle:

It's time for another glorious interview with another glorious guest! This time, Noah & Kyle chat with environmentalist, photographer, and marketer Kate Beebe. There's a lot of delicious stuff in this episode, folks, including Kate's tale of how she became the Director of Marketing at Field Agent without a marketing degree or ever even taking a marketing course! Now if that's not inspirational, we don't know what is! So what are you doing still reading this? Give the episode a listen!

Disappointment is something we all deal with, whether it be personal or creative. Recognizing that, Noah & Kyle decided to talk about it, specifically, some healthy (hopefully) and creative ways to deal with it. Along the way, Noah lives up to his promise and takes the "intro reigns" and Kyle passionately raves about the Chick-fil-A app.

Digital painter mentioned by Noah:

Behind every great man, there's a great piece of gear. That's a saying, right? Regardless, that's the name of the game this week—gear, tools, and their overall relevance in an artist's worth and skill. Along with the overall discussion, Kyle & Noah catalog their own gear this episode; claiming it's due to the "requests" they've been getting, while I think we all know they really just wanted to nerd out. Classic.

Smiled upon by fate once again, Kyle & Noah manage to snag another great interview; this time with Rebecca Obst, an illustrator and barista filled not only with the power of German blood and Munchin-cat-affection but delicious insights as well! Listen as Rebecca explains the ins and outs of maintaining an online presence, the power of being personable, and the awkwardness that comes with owning the "artist" image.

Ah, the age-old question, is art truly subjective or objective? Well, Kyle & Noah certainly don't know, but when has that stopped them from talking about stuff before? Hopefully you get something out of the discussion! If not, well, we warned you—"fools" is in our name, baby.

Back for a good old-fashioned discussion episode, Noah & Sleepy-Kyle break down their "catalyst" strategies, along with the general ingredients they gravitate towards in art. While it's all opinion, hopefully there's some info that can help YOU in the future when you're feeling stuck or just wanting to elevate your work. If not, at least you can listen to a sleep-deprived Kyle slowly lose his mind—that's always fun.
