Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance Wednesday on Capitol Hill, defiantly walking into a House committee hearing centered on whether to hold him in contempt. Democratic consultant and political commentator James Carville said Tuesday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360″ that former President Donald Trump will underperform” with voters in Iowa. The investigation, which focuses on Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, and Cornell University, was launched this week by the House Ways and Means Committee. News of its existence comes as conservatives take aim at schools for seemingly being late to condemn the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led terrorist attacks against Israel, while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion policies that lawmakers argue “raise questions about moral clarity,” according to a letter the GOP-led panel’s chairman, Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO), sent Wednesday to the presidents of the four universities. Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will turn the tables on CNN and his opponents, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), during Wednesday night’s debate by running an ad during the program in all Iowa markets encouraging viewers to turn it off.
