Lauren Hillier is the Principal Accountant at Hillier’s Advisors Chartered Accountants. After following in her father’s footsteps in accounting, Lauren worked to develop her skills at a larger firm and then in2012, Lauren joined the family business to carry on the business’ legacy.

On a day-to-day basis Lauren is responsible for client relationships, outcomes and ensuring Hillier’s deliver excellent advice and solutions to a range of clients. Her specialities include small business advisory, taxation, financial planning, superannuation and retirement planning.

When Lauren’s not at work, she likes to get outside and have fun with her kids and family. She also loves the odd cheese platter and will listen to almost any kind of music.

Becky Kiil is the Owner and Operator of Newcastle Afoot, a local guided tour business which offers walking tours, scavenger hunts andan array of other fun activities across Newcastle.

Becky established the business in 2017 when she decided on a fresh start and a new career. She saw a gap in the market for experiences that introduce people to Newcastle's modern and diverse cultural landscape,which could be paired alongside our heritage and gorgeous beaches. Since 2017, Becky’s business has grown into one of Newcastle’s most popular activities for tourists and locals alike.

Outside of working at Newcastle Afoot, Becky works as the Festival Director for The Big Picture Fest Newcastle, a major world class street art festival set to hit Newcastle in early October. She relishes in good times, tastes, tours, and experiences and loves bringing this passion into her roles both at work and socially.

Josh Carter is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Carter Heavy Haulage, a heavy haulage business based out in Rutherford. Before establishing the businessin 2013, Josh was employed as a heavy diesel mechanic with his local Kenworth dealership, a position he picked up straight out of high school.

After completing his trade, Josh began working alongside his grandfather Ken in their transport family business. Soon after Ken retired, Josh and his wife, Leonnie, decided to continue in his family’s footsteps.

On an average day at work, you will find Josh either behind the wheel of his beloved truck or working hard to manage client enquiries and quotes at HQ. Josh’ passion for trucks has seen him dedicate his life to the transport industry.

In fact, Josh was recognised for this dedication in 2018 when he received recognition as the Best Professional Driver of the Year at the Road Freight NSW Awards. While it is one of his greatest achievements, he believes it is on par with the purchase of his pride and joy, the Kenworth Legend 900 #189.

Andrea Ciotti is the Owner and Founder of Palm & Pine, a premium gift and party shop located in Newcastle West. Andrea was inspired to open her storewhen she noticed pretty party supplieswere what people were missing, and she was looking fora job where she could make people smile, following her move from Florida in 2014.

Andrea established Palm & Pine in October 2016 and since then she has been stocking her shelves with the best quality party supplies from around the globe and offering gorgeous helium balloon arrangementsfor a variety of customers.

When Andrea isn't designing balloon arrangements or working with customers, you'll likely find her spending time with her partner Ben and their French bulldog Palm, baking her favourite sweet dishes from her Southern roots, reading at the beach, or sipping a flat white at one of Newcastle’s many cafes.

As the General Manager of the Newcastle Show, Gabe Robinson has a career that expands into a range of sectors which include TV, education, marketing, and art. Having worked across the country and the globe, Gabe has worked his way up from the humble beginnings of a small country town in NSW.

When he moved to Sydney to find new career prospects in the entertainment industry, he got to work with the teams behind The Voice Australia, X Factor and Nickelodeon. After building his own creative industries business college, Gabe sold the business and took on his role as Newcastle Show’s General Manager.

On a day-to-day basis Gabe gets to use his unique skills in innovation, business management and creativity to make the Newcastle Show a standout event in the region. Outside of work, Gabe can be found glued to his MacBook or spending quality time with his two daughters in the beautiful Hunter Region, where he plans to stay for many years to come.
