The Atlantic is quiet again now that Ana has dissipated after a short-lived track off to the northeast and into the open ocean.

Now our attention is focused on a new cyclone that has developed in the Bay of Bengal that will bring impacts to northeast India later this week.

Subtropical storm Ana will depart the scene and leave the Atlantic Basin nice and quiet as we begin the new week.

Our attention will then be focused upon the Bay of Bengal where a powerful cyclone is forecast to develop by the global models. This could pose a significant threat to areas such as Bangladesh several days down the road.

Invest area 90L could go on to develop and become a short-lived subtropical cyclone over the next few days. Also, NOAA releases their 2021 hurricane season outlook today so be on the lookout for that on social media.

Nice and quiet still in the Atlantic and eastern Pacific but that is not the case for the Indian Ocean where a category four equivalent cyclone is going to make landfall later in the day.
