Having more fun in life is a wonderful goal! Our adult lives can be quite serious and full of intensity. Do you need some help finding ways to bring more joy and excitement into your life? It’s your lucky day because I have a few ideas to share with you. We'll also peek into the new concept of the Law of Pure Potentiality and its relationship to the Law of Giving. It's all here in today's episode of Hurry Up And Meditate.
The brain is so dynamic. It is capable of volumes of information storage and creative thought. The brain machine would run on high gear all day every day if we let it. The problem is, if we allow that, it takes a toll on the body. Therefore, we must allow the brain to rest. This is why we meditate.
Meditation, sitting in stillness sounds so blissful, and it is, but what no one tells you is you have to train your mind to meditate; you have to train your attention skills to keep coming back to your meditation practice.
Today’s meditation practice will be two-fold. First, we will learn a fun and easy way to grab and hold the attention of your brain with a Bumble Bee Meditation. Then, we will do a fundamental breath awareness exercise that you can use every time your mind wanders. It’s a skill for life. You can thank me later.
Let’s train your brain! It’s time to Hurry Up And Meditate!
“The bad news is that time flies. The good news is, you’re the pilot” -Michael Altschuler
I didn’t understand when my parents told me as a young person how precious time was. Take your time, don’t waste your time, it’s time to go, and time is the most precious gift you can give. My dad telling me (often) that the best gifts he could offer were his time and his talent.
As an adult, I manage my entire life by time. I even teach time management. I track time, make time, give time, ask for time off, add time back into my day. Make choices about free time, people ask to pay for my time. I am putting time into a project or taking a time out.
Our conversation, affirmation, journal assignment and meditation today all center around this Time Wise theme and there’s no more time to waste. Let’s Hurry Up and Meditate!
Having fun is good for your health. Fun increases serotonin, improves your ability to cope with future stressors, boosts your energy, sharpens memory and concentration, improves sleep and your connection with others.
You don’t need to be sold on the benefits of fun, you just need to be reminded of them. The next time you are feeling stuck or you’re in a negative headspace, ask yourself, “what can I do to add some fun here?
If nothing comes to mind, I’m offering suggestions to help you bring more joy and excitement into your life, followed by a guided meditation to bring more joy to yourself and those you love. It’s time to Hurry Up And Meditate!
Today's episode is all about heart, love and beauty. It includes the poem by John Roedel, "My brain And My Heart Got Divorced." A journal assignment stemming from a conversational party game and a beautiful Heart Of The Rose Meditation.
Heart Of The Rose Meditation can be a powerful tool for building self-esteem and self-love, as well as for calming the mind and reducing stress.
You can practice it as often as you like, and you may find it helpful to incorporate it into your daily meditation routine.
There's no time to waste, let's Hurry Up And Meditate!
How we choose to “power down” for sleep is unique to each individual person. From the tools you use to prepare yourself for slumber, like running a fan or a sound machine. The way you adjust your pillows, blankets for ultimate comfort.
Today, I want to offer another technique to help your mind and body relax for sleep. It is called PMR, or Progressive Muscle Relaxation. We’ll review the benefits and then I will walk you through a full round of PMR for our meditation practice together. Get ready to power down, it’s time to Hurry Up And Meditate.
We are all deserving of life’s good fortunes. When good things show up for us, both big and small, it stirs joy from within us. Kindness from strangers, a stroke of luck, found money, new opportunities, good parking spots. Every day, in some small way, the winds of good fortune can blow your way.
It’s a lifelong practice is to raise your vibrational alignment to be in tune with good fortune. This sentence can sound too woo-woo and off the charts for much of the population, so for today, let’s keep our quest for good fortune physical and logical for this exercise.
Today’s meditation uses the modalities of music and mudras to tap into the good fortunes in store for you. I’ll guide you into a mudra (hand position) that you can use any time you want to emphasize your good thoughts and goals for the future with confidence. Bring on the Good Fortune as we Hurry Up And Meditate!
Self-soothing techniques are strategies or activities that individuals can use to calm themselves down, manage stress, and regulate their emotions. These techniques can be helpful in various situations, such as when feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or upset.
In today’s episode, I’ll share a personal story about a significant panic attack I had a few years back and what I did to take myself From Panic To Peace. Enjoy this episode of Hurry Up And Meditate!
We have all felt that some one or some thing was draining our energy. How do we know how much energy we have to give away? What does the habit of checking the level of your own energy tank look like for you and how do you decide how much you have to give to another person or to the next task or even to yourself?
Let’s explore these questions and more in today’s episode as we Hurry Up and Meditate.
When was the last time you felt contentment? Where were you, what were you doing? Do you only look to meditation when you are feeling stressed, or do you also turn to your practice when you are feeling perfectly content and want to enhance that feeling?
Today we pair the notion of contentment with a mindfulness meditation. Whether you are looking for contentment or you are bringing it with you into your practice today, let’s enjoy it together as we Hurry Up And Meditate.
