  • 2018 Episode 5: More is More
Every week on the Husker Doct Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy we encourage listeners to send in questions via email. Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice have come to learn over the years that fans are pretty smart, not only in their knowledge of football but the questions they ask.
In this episode, we started off with a basic outline of what we wanted to talk about but our ideas quickly were tossed aside as Rob goes deep into a question asked by a listener. The just gist of it is this, more is more. There is a philosophy in the sports of football that less is more but at a place like Nebraska you can never have enough, and we are talking about players. Listen to the entire episode to hear how Dr. Rob goes into detail on how to build depth with 150 or more players on the team.

Depth isn't the only thing discussed while drinking a growler of Red X IPA from Infusion Brewing Company. More information on the QB's and some recruiting talk as well.
Don't forget to get your tickets for the upcoming season as well as any other events at Ticket Express, this includes Husker Volleyball and Kelly Clarkson tickets at the Nebraska State Fair.
Husker Hounds is your official store for everything Big Red. Three locations in the Omaha area or order online at HuskerHounds.com.

  • 2018 Episode 4: Talking Quarterbacks and Runningbacks
The Huskers are wrapping up their first official week of the 2018 fall camp and based in the media availability given so far; we know very little than what we did before practice started.
Is that statement 100% accurate? Probably not but it seems like we are seeing and hearing less out of practice than earlier years. That's not necessarily a bad thing considering the 24/7/365 news and content cycle we live in today.
Thanks for taking the time to listen to the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy. This week Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice talk about a couple of positions that Husker fans will have their eyes on early on in the season, quarterback and running backs.
    Rimington Trophy Watch List
Dr. Rob says the race at quarterback reminds him of 1992 a little bit when Mike Grant started the season as the starter but true freshman Tommie Frazier took over midseason.
What will the running back position look like in this Scott Frost offense? Husker fans have an idea of what a running back looks like and should play like, but the position is changing, evolving and the starter might come out of a different mold.
Of course, Dr. Rob and Travis are drinking Infusion Brewing Company beer, this week, a Mango Habenero Wit. The right amount of citrus and the right amount of heat that makes the brew a great drink on a summer night.
Need Husker gear for the upcoming season? Make sure to do your shopping at Husker Hounds.
Need tickets for the upcoming season? How about Club Level seats, Champions Club passes, and even parking passes? Ticket Express is the only place we trust to get you in the game and to sit where you want.

  • 2018 Episode 3: Fall Camp Starts
Football is back baby! This means we start up the weekly recordings of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy. It's great to have our sponsors back again this season including:
    Infusion Brewing Company
    Ticket Express
    Husker Hounds
Fall camp is starting as we record, but our first conversation spends more talking about Ohio State and Urban Meyer if he returns to coach the Buckeyes this season. What we do know is that protected me who beat women are not good people.
Once we start talking about the Huskers, we dive into the importance of Dave Ellis returning to team as well as Ron Brown. We don't spend a lot of time talking about players or positions. That starts next week.
If you have a question for Dr. Rob, make sure email him at [email protected] or follow him on Twitter @doctalksports for more interaction.

  • 2018 Episode 2: Summer Musings
It's hotter than hell outside! Unless you like soccer and regular season baseball the sports world has reached its dead period. So Dr. Rob and Travis decided there was no better time than the present to get together, drink beer and ponder our summer musings about the upcoming college football season.
We cover a lot in this episode and we missed a lot as well. If you ever have a topic that you want us to talk about you can always email us, [email protected].
In this podcast cover the upcoming Big 10 Media days and if it's good or bad that the conference does not have an "official" pre-season All-Conference Team and pre-season order of finish in each division.
Players leaving, yes we talk about that as well and we talk a lot about Frank Solich coming back in 2019 to accept the Osborne Legacy Award.
Tom Osborne is opposed to gambling. We aren't! Now that the Supreme Court as said sports gambling can be legal outside of Vegas will it have an impact on the sport?
Speaking of coming back, we are pleased to report that ALL our sponsors are back from the 2018 season. The Rimington Trophy, Ticket Express, Husker Hounds and Infusion Brewing Company. Thanks to them this drunkfest.... errrr podcast is possible.
Dr. Rob is always fired up on Twitter, just ask him about socialized medicine and you are sure to get a response. Follow him on Twitter @doctalksports.
Enjoy the rest of the offseason!

  • 2018 Episode 1: The Frost Has Thawed
Okay we know what you are thinking, you see the title, "The Frost Has Thawed," and this is going to be a negative podcast. Quite the contrary! The title of this podcast is a cheezy play on words and signifies all the hype surrounding Nebraska Football, Scott Frost, and spring practice have calmed down a little.
We were looking for a good reason to get back in the studio to record and drink beer! So on this special spring edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, we start with the most recent events and work our way backward. If you are a regular listener to this podcast, you know that we can stray onto different topics from time to time and this is no different in this podcast.
Dr. Rob Zatechka has some pretty strong opinions about what he has seen so far from the new coaching staff, and he likes what he sees and hears.
If you want a couple more podcast before August, let us know, and we will try and get back into the studio. If you have questions, you can always email us at [email protected] and follow Dr. Rob on Twitter, @doctalksports.
One more thing, watch the video below to learn more about Scare Away Cancer's Boo Brew 5 event coming up on May 17th. We would love to see you there to support a great cause!

As 2017 comes to an end, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice give their final thoughts on what has been a remarkable year.
This addition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy was recorded on location at the Infusion Brewing Company in Benson. Yes, lots of beer was consumed! Yes, Dr. Rob and Travis got into their now weekly Brook Berringer argument. And yes they spend a lot of time talking about Scott Frost, recruiting, and the upcoming bowl game that Frost will coach for UCF.
Some special guests join the show. Scott from Husker Hounds and Jessica from Ticket Express both discuss who Scott Frost is good for business and how the entire climate surrounding Husker football has turned from cold to burning hot!
Infusion Brewing has supplied beer for Dr. Rob and Travis all season long. Hear from what of their talented brewers on what makes Infusion so good and what to expect in 2018.

  • 2017 Episode 20: Finally! Something To Believe In
This Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy gets a little emotional.
Dr. Rob was one of the 200+ former players who welcomed Scott Frost back "home" on Sunday. Dr. Rob describes the feeling in the room and how there is finally something to believe in!
It's also emotional for fans! Scott Strunc who ones Husker Hounds stopped by for our recording and talks about how over the last five years he almost walked away from the business.
Also in this podcast find out who the guest speaker is at the Rimington Trophy Presentation Banquet on January 13, 2018, in Lincoln. It's a big name who knows a lot about football!

  • 2017 Episode 19: Waiting For The December Frost
The waiting is the hardest part! Waiting for the next head coach (Scott Frost) to be named is hard for the fans as they are ready for the future now!
But what is the wait like for the players? On this episode of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob and Travis talk to Zach Potter. The former Husker was a junior when Bill Callahan was fired and played his senior year for Bo Pelini. Zach talks about the wait and the transition that takes place. His experience gives us a glimpse of what the players on the roster right now are going through as they wait just like everyone else.
It wouldn't be a Husker Doc Talk Podcast if we weren't drinking beer from Infusion Brewing Company. Hear our review of the Pistachio Porter!
You know beer makes a great holiday gift! So do tickets from Ticket Express and gear from Husker Hounds.

  • 2017 Episode 18: Mike Riley A Husker In 2018? There’s A Possibility!

It is only fitting that a miserable season ends with a miserable made up trophy game. The only bright spot Husker fans can take away from this weeks game with Iowa is the fact that Mike Riley will be fired after the game.

But what if Riley were to stay at Nebraska? Would you be on board? This topic is what Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss in this week's Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy.

Mike Riley is well liked in the state (besides his coaching). Mike Riley has solidified an excellent recruiting class that Nebraska would want to hang on to even with a coaching transition. So is there a place for Riley at Nebraska if he's not on the bench?

Dr. Rob believes Scott Frost is coming to Nebraska, but when? After the regular season? After the American Conference Championship Game? After the UCF Bowl Game? It's about timing, and right now there may not be a good time to leave UCF with the Golden Knights being undefeated.

Get our tickets for Friday's game at Tickets Express and make sure to get your gear at Husker Hounds. By the way, both places are great to pick up Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers.
