  • Episode #132: Grammys On Grammys

After a battle with depression and procrastination, THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST returns! As the anniversaries turn, so do the ages of two of my favorite projects, which just so happened to turn 25 this year. I spend the first half of the episode covering August 1994's II by Boyz II Men and then cap things off with an in-depth look at TLC's November 1994 opus, CrazySexyCool. This episode was brought to you by Pitch Perfect, interrupted lunches and segments, and Straw-Ber-Ritas. I regret nothing.

  • Episode #131: We Did It For The Kids

So, look. The other day, Miles Amadeus Prower of A Podcast Called Fresh hits me and tells me he’s gonna send me a clip of an all-new I, Black Man Podcast segment for THE BARACK OBAMA APPROVED WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST and I’m all for it. But I thought I would post it on Sunday’s episode. I wake up to an email from Maps Wednesday morning with the segment but I already mixed down this episode. So again, I was looking at Sunday’s episode. But somehow, some way, Maps’ clip from IBMP is on this episode and I can’t remove it. I don’t know what happened.

After Maps’ segment, I talk about my participation in my first ever Extra Life gaming marathon for the Children’s Miracle Network with some family and then I review Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil, which turns into a recap of the first Maleficent film. Those fairies who aren’t Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather are the worst. This episode was brought you by Monstalung Soundvizion and Warriors @ Rockets.

  • Episode #130: The Secret Is You Got To Coordinate

I went to bed after I finished recording Episode #129 with Lam and I woke up to the news that beloved actor and comedian John Witherspoon passed away at 77. So as THE BARACK OBAMA APPROVED WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST returns to just regular old me-centric episodes, I spend the first half of this episode eulogizing the man we affectionately knew as Pops. I then move on to an Oakland Raiders midseason report as my beloved football team is doing better than expected at the halfway point. This episode was brought to you by Back In Time, Four Days In October, and Raven's Home.

  • Episode #129: Into The View Askewniverse (Costarring Michael Lamerique)

This episode contains the very last episode to complete the first ever event month here on THE BARACK OBAMA APPROVED WORLD'S GREAT PODCAST, a little ditty I like to call GUEST MONTH. Nine episodes; eight guests, and returning for the 6th time, we have Michael Lamerique! Lam agreed to join me as we covered the film career of Kevin Smith, including (but not limited to): Clerks! Mallrats! Dogma! Clerks II! Zack and Miri Make A Porno! And other key films directed by Smith. But then, we also spent a ton of time talking about movies unrelated to Kevin Smith, Chris Rocks's film career, Justin Long's filmography, South Park, and oh yeah... Lam even broke y'all off with a Jesus Is King review. There is a few minutes of missing audio in the Kanye section; our apologies. This episode was brought to you by Community, Kobe on Ridiculousness, and this popcorn I'm about to make.

Sidebar: Jay & Silent Bob Reboot is touring nationwide and is the driving force for this episode. Go see that movie. I know I will.

  • Episode #128: February 18, 2007 (Costarring Ed Brown)

Journey with me to a cold February day 12 years ago, when I was home on Pennsylvania Avenue and my friend Ed Brown was still in visiting for the weekend. In this only episode of the Hyphen & Easy Podcast (or THE BARACK OBAMA APPROVED WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST, Hyphen Nation), Ed and I discuss the 2007 All-Star Saturday night festivities! What we did that weekend! Our thoughts after checking out Ghost Rider as well as how excited we were for some of the trailers that came before our main feature! We talk about the 2007 Daytona 500 as it was happening (sorry for the dip in audio quality here, my actual recording didn't have the full audio from this segment)! NFL 2007 offseason news and some college basketball! And then we finish with a little WWE talk! PLUS: Marcus Robinson made an impromptu appearance in Morgantown this past Sunday and against all odds, we (+ Anthony) recorded 8 minutes of audio fire at the local Sonic. This episode was brought to you by Community and We're The Millers.

  • Episode #127: Live Long And Powerbomb Your Opponent Through The Announce Table (Costarring Erik Fromme)

Without further delay, THE BARACK OBAMA APPROVED WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST returns! On this trip, I recruited my old friend from the corner of Lake Erie (or Buffalo, NY), Erik Fromme. We discuss how we met, how we both came into comic book fanfiction and our former sites Marvel & DC Anthology, Erik's time writing his character Anthony Drake, his idea for a Star Trek series, his contribution to our friend Derrick Ferguson's new book Dillon: The Odd Jobs, and wrap things up talking about NXT and the problems with WWE's main roster shows. This episode was brought to you by NFL Sunday Countdown and Marcus Robinson's surprise visit!

  • Episode #126: The Hyphen & Kwames Show (Costarring Kwame Amponsem)

When I was younger, I was a part of a radio show on WVU's college radio station called the Urban Diner. During that time, I paired up with a gentleman and together, we created The Hyphen & Kwames Show, the most powerful, mythical, and awesome radio show that there ever was. Then, as suddenly as it started, my co-host Kwame Amponsem moved away, and I was alone. ANYWAY, after mentioning very early on when I started this podcast that I wanted to have Kwame as a guest, I FINALLY made it happen. We talked about how he ended up at U92, how he started playing the bass and how he's a well-traveled musician, we talked about our old radio show, and we rounded it all off with how he got into stand up comedy. I was pretty much a crying laughing emoji (but apparently the correct name of the emoji is the Face With Tears of Joy emoji) the whole time. This episode was brought to you by Penelope and a pizza with apples and butternut squash and spinach and goat cheese... yeah.

  • Episode #125: Coolin' With Cap'n Cook (Costarring Anthony Sellers)

Fresh off a new episode of Browns In Our Blood, Anthony Sellers joins me on THE BARACK OBAMA APPROVED WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST to talk about El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie! Join us as we ride with Jesse Pinkman as his story picks up where the final episode of Breaking Bad ended. Spoilers galore, wild theories, a lot of reminiscing, and even though I'm not proud of it, we had to talk Jesse Plemons (he was fantastic in this movie).  This episode is brought to you by the Rick Ross episode of Pull Up and the return of Morgantown being Little Seattle.

  • Episode #124: The Best Music Projects Of The Decade (Costarring Marcus Robinson)
Very soon, the decade of the 2010s will be coming to an end. Almost lost without a MCU movie to cover, Marcus went into Thought Father mode and came up with a doozy of an episode. Each of us brought our 5 favorite music projects of the '10s to the table as well as 10 honorable mentions. My list stopped at 30 projects... Marcus was at 95 by the time we started recording this episode. Who has what where? Some of our choices may surprise you. This episode was brought to you by Men In Black 3 and SNL, hosted by David Harbour and featuring EG's favorite, Camila Cabello.

  • Episode #123: To Seattle, Thanks For Everything (Costarring Paul Hermann)

This time out on THE BARACK OBAMA APPROVED WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST, we travel to Washington state to find the man known as P-Thug, Paul Hermann! For the first time in years, Paul and I link up to talk about his podcasts (Marvel Studios News/The Comic Binge Podcast/Star Wars Blaster Canon/Star Wars: The Saga Continues), Michael Bailey, the wonderful city of Seattle, SuperSonics/Mariners/Seahawks sports, and we even take time to discuss The Last Jedi and MCU fatigue! This episode is brought to you by PhD Plumbing who easily fixed my bathroom sink and The Rewatchables - Remember The Titans.
