Kicking off the podcast as he does every week, Josh Peterson goes through games ranked 30-21 before welcoming Jack Mitchell in to go a bit deeper on each loss. Jack is blown away one of his top ten games is only ranked 24th, the Scott Frost and Mike Riley eras come to a close, the final blowouts appear, and the first of eight OT losses finally shows up. Josh Peterson unveils the all new I-80 Football Show, a brand new podcast from the I-80 Club coming this season. Consider this the soft launch of what's to come, with regular episodes appearing each Thursday of the season starting on August 21st.

On today's episode, Josh continues his look at Matt Rhule, year three at Nebraska, and what to expect, but with a twist; he looks back at the third seasons for Matt Rhule's squads at Temple and Baylor.

First, John DiCarlo of OwlScoop.com joins the podcast (5:00) to discuss Rhule's early years at Temple and why the Owls were able to break through like they did in 2015. How surprised was he about what was to come? Were there signs along the way? And why was a Penn State win to start 2015 so key to their success?

Then, Josh welcomes Sam Kahn Jr. of The Athletic to the pod (40:43) to discuss what it was like covering Rhule's Baylor years as a reporter for ESPN. What kind of program was he walking into in 2017 and how were they able to break through so strongly in 2019?
