Halloween is a magical time of the year for both children and adults alike. Whether you prefer to play tricks or seek treats, it's a holiday that truly embraces the spirit of imagination requiring only one thing to participate; a costume. It can be store bought or a fully committed DIY job, but either way it doesn't have to break the bank. Bryn fabricates a fortune tellers costume while Laura tries her hat as a magician by only using things already in their home. Bryn reminisces on old costumes while sharing her experience of trick or treating as an aunt for the first time this year. Laura shares the struggles she felt as a kid by wanting to play more of the masculine roles at Halloween time only to realize the role that drag has had around this holiday for her. In night full of screaming children jacked up of sugar, we all know what's really in the parent's yeti cup as they stroll the streets for trick or treat. But what's in some of these kid's candy bags? From Dental Floss to light up swords we're talking about some of the bizarre things we've seen handed out from the "candy bowl". This episode is no tricks and all treats so put on your best costume and join us as we discuss the Magic of Halloween.

Natural Disasters have this overwhelming ability to cause absolute destruction with little to no warning for those most susceptible. Hurricane Ida was no exception to this hitting land at a category 4 initially throat punching the great state of Louisiana on August 26th 2021. After living through the most recent Hurricane, Christina Bolling joins the podcast this week to talk about her experience as well as the tragic reality so many others are having to face throughout her state even 4 weeks after the initial impact. The storm damage becomes old news and the rest of the country forgets just how hard some people are impacted by the water and winds. As a dedicated pet parent, it's never easy to process the passing of a beloved pup. On this week's episode Bryn and Laura share the story of their oldest dog August as they make the incredibly hard decision to have her cross the rainbow bridge. From a young pup, this sassy husky of a girl suffered from intense hip dysplasia and mild incontinence. But after finding useful medications like CBD and Carprofen, August's discomfort was eased significantly giving her the start of a healthy and balanced life. Bryn and Laura blended their packs shortly after dating but once August experienced the trauma of loosing her older brother Nanook to a neighbor dog, she started relating having the new dogs in the house to the sudden loss. In turn, she became aggressive towards the youngest of the bunch and so Bryn and Laura started separating their packs into 2 separate groups. Though it was incredibly difficult, this created a balance in the house giving August the final 3 peaceful years she deserved. It wasn't until August's health suddenly declined that the vet was able to diagnose her with intense kidney failure as well as cancer in her stomach and chest. That was the painful push that caused Bryn and Laura to make the incredibly hard decision to see August crossing the rainbow bridge. Please join us as we grieve the loss of such a sweet baby while reminiscing on such a beautiful life.
