How to know if you need a life coach?

You feel like you can't find that purpose to stop procrastinating, or you can't manage your time in a better way. Maybe you feel lost, feel like you don't have a purpose, or you let fear hold you back. That could be why you might need a life coach. So if you find yourself always going back to the same behaviour, always trying to sabotage your success and all the things you want to do, you might need someone to help you find the tools you already have.

Importance of Guidance

So needing guidance is 100% normal and is actually a great decision. When something breaks down in your house, you don't try to fix it yourself. Sometimes you do that; some other times, you don't try to fix it yourself because that's not the area where you know. That's why you would want to ask someone for guidance when you need it. Through the right questions, exercises, and activities that you can do during sessions, you can find that power and that those tools will stay with you forever. A life coach can help you find that reason and the root of the problem so you can actually fix it if it's a bad habit.

My area of work is a lot of self-esteem, self-confidence, and decision-making. My program's goal is for that person to live as someone who is confident, better equipped to make decisions and good quality decisions.

I have read a book that is from Mel Robbins. She's a life coach, but she also does many other things. She's an author in the States, and the book is called "The 5 Second Rule" where it's going to help you no matter the situation or what area of your life you want to work on. Often, a lot of the brain prep process happens when we decide, such as when is the best time to decide and how you can actually make it happen because if you don't have that action, the present is never going to happen.

In this episode, we’re going to reflect on one of the things that as a woman really made up the difference in my life was discovering my imposter syndrome. Something that I think I suffer pretty much all my life without realising it. I will share things that you can do when you’re feeling that impostor syndrome.

Impostor Syndrome

I was talking to my ex-boss about my doubt and excuses. Why things hadn't worked out in the way that I wanted. And she just simply say, to probably am suffering from imposter syndrome. And I didn't have a clue what she was talking about.

Impostor syndrome refers to an internal experience of believing that you are not as competent as all others perceive you to be. It can affect anyone, no matter their social status, work background, skill level, or degree of expertise.

Signs of Impostor Syndrome and How can you deal with it

Self-doubt and inability to realistically assess your skills as routine use access to external factors. So it's never, you, it's something else. Fear that you wouldn't live up to expectation over achieving sabotaging your own success.

Part of it was a lot of my body language, not showing that I was confident of what I was doing or what I was.

I realised that my behaviour changed and that I knew what I was doing. With that, the perception of all those starts changing. I could see myself in the meetings when people were asking me things and me rather than go for approval.

After a little while when I start demonstrating that I knew what I was talking about, that I was assertive, that I answered the questions, and then the inquiries and the questions about my job or my teams started to diminish to non questions at all. And that for me was a triumph. With that, I realised what was my value. I realised that I was able to give more, but also I wanted more. I wanted to do a lot more.

• Create awareness of those things. Let go of your inner perfectionist. 
• Be kind to yourself. Turn down the negative thoughts and practice more positive thoughts by turning those negative ones into good ones.
• Give yourself more realistic goals.

Do what professional athletes do spend time beforehand, picturing yourself, making a successful presentation on helping that client answer all their questions, very calm and collected. Think about your position. Think about how you are expressing yourself. Think about the energy that you're going to show, imagine that you are sending to these people wave and wave of positive energy.

You will never see these failures as a negative. It's just a way of learning new skills and learning how to do better. Don't fight the imposter syndrome. Don't try to avoid it. Don't try to hide it from yourself, embrace it as set it and move on.

For me, the best way I have found to release stress has been through exercise, a habit that took me eight years to create but which I have finally adopted in my life. After spending many years without liking my body or the way I saw it today, I can say that I love every part of it.

Being an immigrant many times is the most difficult decision we can make. Some emigrate for love or for work, and some because of war.

When I moved out to England, I came up with the false idea that the most important thing to advance in my career was to have the perfect English accent. But instead of being a positive thing, this idea ended up turning my language learning process much slower. It took me away from communicating with people and even my professional and personal dreams. At one point, I started to feel I was losing my essence.

Your accent is not a limitation! and I learned that in the best way. When I left my insecurities behind and decided to open my mouth regardless of what others thought, that's when I discovered that my accent was not a limitation. My accent is my essence, my story, and who I am.

In this episode of What the Gut, our guest is Sarah Law. She is a fully qualified nutritional therapist. And since graduating, Sarah has become a specialist in skin health and weight management for women. In 2019, she became an IFBB pro bikini athlete. Her purpose in life is to help women see that ageing can be beautiful, live in harmony with their bodies, and fuel themselves in a way that is no restrictive to private or filled with food fear. Sarah will share some tips on maintaining a healthy body, what types of food you should eat and not eat, and taking care of your weight and body.

The Hub of Health

According to Sarah, the gut is the hub of health. Socrates said that all disease starts in the gut. Mainstream medicine is beginning to understand this and see how important gut health is. It affects everything. The reason is that we have trillions of bacteria in our gut, which are really important. We have more bacteria in our guts than we have human cells in our bodies. It's vital because those gut bacteria help break down food. They produce vitamins and minerals for you.

How we can take care of our Gut

Sarah often says to people, depending on the person. Depending on what they've really got going on, some people may need to take it a step further if they've really got things going on. For most people who just want to start looking after their gut, then the main ones are gluten, dairy, highly refined and processed foods, and get rid of vegetable oils wherever possible. And alcohol or anything that's going to cause damage is probably a good thing to remove.

Creating and Finding Better Alternatives 

Sarah is all about helping people find better alternatives. We don't expect people to go and cook everything from scratch all the time, but if you can do it for the majority of the time, then that's going to be the biggest difference. For her, it's about where you can eat as many whole real foods as possible and go back to basics. The keyword is go back to eating real whole food as much as possible. According to Sarah, it doesn't have to be hard, and it doesn't have to mean eating bland food and giving up everything you've ever loved. You start to shift the way you think about things. It's not about deprivation but about finding better alternatives to what you love that isn't serving you.

Resetting the Body and Diet

According to Sarah, the reset is about using the right ones and coupling them in the right way to make sure that everything is in balance. A Reset shouldn't be full of deprivation. When we lead people through the reset, it's not about that at all. It's about teaching people how to make food incredible and tasty and use those things that they would typically deem as the treats how to make better versions of them.
Sarah puts the good stuff in and, and then it's about nourishing, not eating less. She thinks that's the thing that she loves to share with people is it's not about eating less. It's about eating right.
