We Want To Hear From YOU!
This is part 4 of our Forgiveness series; if you have made it this far, you are serious about laying all grudges at God's feet.
Lord, we thank you for your grace and mercy, for always forgiving us for going against your will and your way. Lord, we ask that you instill your grace and your mercy so that we can extend it to each other so that there is no division between us, just peace, which is what your heart desires. Amen

You will not find the name Alice in any biblical translation; trust me, I have researched. However, what I want to tell you about Alice aligns with a few familiar biblical stories, and when I tell you about her, you will understand

Today, I want to talk to you briefly about the role of fathers. In order to effectively speak on such an important role, we have to refer to the human life manual. I want to tell you about the struggles, challenges, and victories of some of the fathers in the bible.
You know I really don’t understand those who say they find the bible boring, when it’s filled with stories that supersede any movie and any reality show, you’ll see what I am talking about in just a moment.
I must open and close this message with the most important father figure in the Bible and that is God the Father—the ultimate role model for all human dads. His love, kindness, patience, wisdom, and protectiveness are impossible standards for any human father to live up to. Fortunately for us, he is also forgiving, understanding, and one who repeatedly answers the prayers of fathers'.
The first human father was Adam. He had no role model, the only father figure in his life was God, can you imagine the pressure when your only role model is perfect, sinless, and with one single flaw

1 Peter 2:9-12 (Message)
But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life in your neighborhood so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.

When we left off in Eden, God had already given Adam his only command at the time, which was not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He then went on to explain to him that when you eat from it, you will certainly die.
The first thing I want you to pay close attention to is that God put the tree smack dab in the middle of the Garden of Eden. He could have fenced it in, put it on top of a mountain, or surrounded it with erupting volcanoes to make the tree in accessible to Adam and Eve, but He didn’t.
Nowhere in the Bible will you ever find where God enabled mankind’s access to sin or enabled our access to decide whether to obey or disobey Him or not?
The reason is quite simple and is outlined in John 14, which simply states: If you love me, keep my commandments. God wants us to choose to obey Him out of a sincere love for Him.
Love cannot be forced.
Love is not manipulated.
Love can only prove sincere if other options are accessible.
If you can’t trust your significant other around the others, for fear they will violate their commitment to you, you can really trust their love.
Sincere love is birthed out of choice and a willingness to sacrifice and is accompanied by genuine and unwavering commitment. God will never force His will, His way, or His Word on us. He gives us His commands, outlines the consequences, and leaves the decision to obey or not totally up to us.
So God decided that it was not good for Adam to be alone, so God put him to sleep and proceeded with a divine surgery, creating Eve from Adam’s rib, and the two are naked before God and unashamed.
And today, we pick up the story; if you don’t know it, the devil is mad. God has developed a new creation and given them dominion, and they are now basking in the presence of God, content and with nothing to be ashamed of. Satan begins to think, “Oh no, peace, obedience, and joy, I will have no such a thing; I have to begin working to make mankind obey me, not God.”

Once, God gave Adam his assignment, purpose, and commandment. Then God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
When you dissect the word alone, in Hebrew "al" means single, of a single thought, incomplete. In Hebrew the “al” can also obtain its meaning from the text that follows. For example almost indicates the most as incomplete, not majority, but almost. In Hebrew alone, it means incomplete one, one of ‘single” thought.
So when God said it is not good for man to be alone, the scripture essentially says it is not good for man to be incomplete or of single thought. God then said, “I will make him a helper suitable for him,” another being to complete him and give him a perspective from a different thought process.
NEWSFLASH: This is why God created women not just physically but emotionally differently. Women tend to operate from feelings, while men tend to from logic. If men and women could come together and share their two perspectives instead of competing, then God’s plan for His image bearers regarding dominion could truly be realized.

The biblical significance of God breathing into man's nostrils is His divine gift of our access to a personal and intimate relationship with Him. It is crucial that we understand our unique status in creation and our relationship with the Creator. When life seems to consume you, when your patience has run thin and your finances even thinner, when you begin to feel emotionally, spiritually, and physically suffocated, to the point where you can’t breathe, remember God, the Creator, breathe into us. Let the breath of God take over when you are struggling to breathe.

You know we all have formulated norms in our lives, specific ways we do things, and we’ve gotten comfortable with our norms.
However, the truth is when you want different you have to do be willing to do different. It is said that the definition of insanity is to keep doing things the same way and expecting different results.
Don’t get so consumed with life’s patterns, your own norms, your work, or how the world says you should proceed, or when you should proceed, when we become consumed with these things we begin to forget what Jesus looks like.
The scripture tells us none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord, the game changer, the one who is not bound by anything, the one with unlimited power.
When you shift away from the patterns and norms and become open to the instructions of God, Jesus will show up and you’ll know its Him.

I consider myself a good cook, but like some of you, I enjoy skimming through Pinterest to see different recipes to spice up my traditional recipes. Every cook knows there are just some foundational ingredients you can’t omit. For instance, you need some flour to bake a cake, and you can make some desserts without real sugar, but let’s be honest, it is not as good as those made with real sugar.
This morning, I want to talk to you briefly about the secret ingredient God used when creating mankind. Before He pulled Adam from the dirt and blew into his nostrils, there was an ingredient that should never be overlooked.
