We Want To Hear From YOU!

The Bible repeatedly speaks about something called “the remnant.”

Not the crowd.
 Not the majority.
 Not the popular.
 Not the trending voices.

The remnant.

The ones still standing when compromise became common.
 The ones still faithful when culture became confused.
 The ones who remain committed to God when everybody else starts negotiating with truth.

And if I can say this plainly:
 I don’t just want to attend church…
 I want to be counted among the remnant.

Meaning:
 I want to remain faithful to the truth and principles of God even when the majority around me is compromising, giving up, or abandoning those principles altogether.

Separation of church and state, is one of the most misunderstood quotes of our time. Many of the moral and civic principles woven into modern laws did not appear out of thin air. While governments and legal systems are not the same as the Kingdom of God, many laws that protect human dignity, fairness, accountability, and justice reflect biblical principles that have echoed through civilizations for centuries.

What is fascinating is that Scripture often introduced principles long before societies institutionalized them. And many of these principles are cyclical in nature—meaning humanity repeatedly drifts away from them, suffers the consequences, then rediscovers the wisdom behind them again.

I proclaim today as Friendship Day as I celebrate the gift of my best friend.

Not an acquaintance.
 Not a “like-my-post-but-never-check-on-my-heart” kind of friend.
 Not a “call-me-only-when-you-need-something” connection.

I’m talking about the kind of friendship that carries Heaven’s fingerprints on it.

The kind that can laugh with you in public, pray for you in private, and correct you without secretly enjoying your downfall.  The Bible is full of friendships that prove God never intended for life to be walked alone.

Proverbs 8 gives wisdom a voice, here is a excerpt of the very voice of wisdom….

Wisdom starts off telling us that it dwells with prudence or better known to us as common sense.  To all folks, common sense is not common, which is why wisdom is so important and to others, they have wisdom and knowledge but lack prudence or common sense, Wisdom continues by telling us that it also possesses knowledge and discretion, which in some situations THE LACK THERE OFF can prove detrimental to not just the body but the soul.

True wisdom is a friend of the Lord as it hates evil, pride, arrogance, and perverse speech. 

Wisdom exalts counsel and sound judgment for in these two one will find insight and power.

Wisdom is such a jewel it has crowned Kings and IS an ESSENTIAL COMPONENT IN LAWMAKING. Wisdom has made a vow to love those who love and seek him.  Wisdom wants to enter into a lucrative relationship with each of us as it has found the key to secure riches and honor along with enduring wealth and prosperity.

If you have never formally been introduced to wisdom, I strongly suggest you get to know him, for being friends with him will take you places you never imagined and open doors you never knew existed.  The bible is an excellent place to get to know Wisdom as there are 5 books dedicated to him and him alone they are the Book of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon.

Don’t take wisdom for granted, get to know Him, he is an excellent friend to have.

As we honor mothers this morning, I want to talk briefly about The Mothering of a Mother.  Today’s message is from 2 Kings 4:1-7.

Let me set the scene of the times.  This story happened during a time when the law of the land dictated that a creditor could enslave his debtor and his children to pay off debts owed.

Verse 1 reads, “The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant, my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”

Because the scriptures don’t mention that her husband died enslaved, he was likely making payments to this creditor to pay off what he owed.  

But his creditor likely heard of her husband’s death and decided to take advantage of the law, which said they could enslave her children to pay off her husband's debt.

Right off the bat, we know this woman was a real mother,  she wasn’t having it.  No one was going to take her children from her, let alone compromise their freedom and subject them to who knows what.  This woman went into “true mommy mode.”

The ones in my den, positioned ever so kindly on either side of my credenza, seem to be on my team. They make me look a little slimmer, a little taller—like I have my life together. These are the mirrors that whisper, “You’re doing just fine, sis. No need to worry. Maybe even have that extra piece of toast.”

But then… there’s the mirror on my second-floor landing. Now, this mirror? This mirror does not care about my feelings. It has no interest in illusions. It tells me the unfiltered, unedited truth about my size, my posture, and exactly how much effort I’ve been (or haven’t been) putting into my fitness agenda. It shows me reality, and let’s just say, truth, and I had a moment the other day.

This morning, hear this loud and clear: It’s never too late to reset. Not too late to do better. Not too late to do different. Not too late to elevate your mindset, raise your standards, or detox your heart from bitterness and refill it with joy.

Some of us are stuck on repeat—not because we don’t know there’s another way, but because we’ve grown cozy with familiarity. We fear what people might say. 

We fear what the change might cost. But can we keep it real? ‘

Sometimes, the only thing standing between you and your next level is your fear of the accountability that elevation demands.
