  • Washington, D.C. - Rev. Dean Nelson - Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WVa) pledged his support for the Hyde Amendment
Based in the Washington, D.C. area, Dean Nelson is responsible for advancing the Culture of Life in the political sphere, by building bridges, coalitions, and partnerships. He brings to Human Coalition more than 20 years of demonstrated success directing nonprofit organizations, with an emphasis on urban strategies, grassroots organization, and national leadership training. Before taking the role as executive director of Human Coalition Action, Rev. Nelson faithfully served Human Coalition as the church outreach director for five years.

Rev. Nelson was recently appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to serve on the congressional Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Commission whose mission is to honor the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WVa) pledged his support for the Hyde Amendment, saying "I'm going to support Hyde in every way possible." This is good news for the majority of Americans who don't believe their taxpayer dollars should be used to subsidize abortions.

Rev. Dean Nelson of Human Coalition Action has been a vocal supporter of the Hyde Amendment. Recently, he signed this coalition letter urging Congress to protect Hyde. As a Black man, he's also argued that it provides a legal barrier to the abortion industry's exploitation of people of color.

Rev. Nelson and many others will continue to educate the public as well as lobby Congress and the White House on the importance of protecting Hyde.

Rev. Nelson has worked for other major pro-life and Christian organizations, including Global Outreach Campus Ministries and Care Net, where he managed an annual budget of more than $1 million. As part of Wellington Boone Ministries’ senior strategic planning team, Rev. Nelson helped plant ministries in capital cities such as Richmond, Virginia; Atlanta, Georgia; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Washington, D.C. And United Way recognized him for his work in bringing people together for a common cause.

Rev. Nelson serves as the chairman of the board for the Douglass Leadership Institute. He is a sought-after speaker, giving frequent interviews on ABC and NBC affiliate networks in Washington, D.C. He’s appeared on the 700 Club, CBN News, and MSNBC, as well. And he is a frequent guest on Christian radio programs, including the Bott Radio Network and American Family Radio.

Rev. Nelson is a licensed minister from Salem Baptist Church in Marshall, Virginia, and an ordained pastor with Wellington Boone Ministries. He holds a BA in Rhetoric and Communication from the University of Virginia, and he completed post-graduate work at Coverdell Leadership Institute and Leadership Institute Campaign School.

He and his wife Julia have three children and live in Maryland.

  • Music Artist - Sarah Harralson
“Sarah Harralson presents honest, bare-boned recordings that are authentic,” stated Music Connection Magazine after hearing her debut singer-songwriter EP, Finally Found, in 2014. Her authenticity lies in her lyrics based on true stories followed by melodies that will be stuck in your head hours after hearing it. An authentic storyteller and straight shooter, she is not afraid to tell it like it is in her music. This Knoxville native began writing songs when she was ten years old, her bluegrass musician grandfather being her biggest musical influence. She was surrounded by genres such as country, rock 'n roll, soul, and pop growing up, but the storytelling aspect of country is what ultimately drew Harralson to pursuing that genre.

After her grandfather passed in 2011, Sarah decided she would move to Nashville two years later to pursue music at Belmont University. A year after releasing her debut EP in 2014, she was discovered by Scotty Schultz, drummer of Shooter Jennings (Waylon Jennings’s son). Scotty opened up his publishing company, Raindrop Music LLC, in 2015 and after hearing Sarah’s original song “Watered Down Whiskey”, he knew he wanted to sign her right away. This would be Sarah’s first publishing deal. Scotty decided he would produce her first country EP, Watered Down Whiskey, of all original songs that Sarah has either written or co-written. "This EP will help many people and hopefully some will have their heart healed by her emotional lyrics," stated Music Update Central after hearing the release of her second EP in February 2018.

Sarah’s country influences range from The Dixie Chicks to Brandy Clark to Johnny Cash with the vocals sounds of Jewel and Alanis Morissette, which comes across on her second EP, Watered Down Whiskey. Scotty Schultz of Raindrop Music, LLC stated that, “she is a driven woman who deserves to be heard,” and the stories will definitely be heard.

One of the tracks on the EP includes the song, “Radio Static” that was co-written with Johnny Garcia (lead guitar for Garth Brooks). Over time, Sarah began writing and working with Johnny, which evolved to the point where Sarah would sign her next publishing deal with Busy at Play Publishing (Johnny Garcia’s company) in February 2020. During 2020, she has released singles, "Put a Rock on This Rolling Stone", "Get Lost in Some Rock 'N Roll", and holiday single, "Frosty", since signing with Busy at Play Publishing. Her new single, "The Chance" will be released on June 4th and is available for pre-save now.

    https://sarahharralson.com/

You can find her playing local shows in Nashville when she is not out of town. Her stage credibility includes opening for the likes of Aaron Tippin, Bucky Covington, and also included on festival rosters with Jason Aldean and Old Dominion as headliners. Besides performing, Sarah also produces music herself and decided to release a collaborative album, West of Me, with co-writer Christine Bauer in early 2019 that she self-produced. You can also hire her to write and record a song for you or your loved one through websites, Songfinch, SoundBetter, or Fiverr. Besides writing her own material, she has also co-written songs cut by other artists such as "Tennessee" by Whippoorwill, "Thirsty" by Natalia Soul, and "It'll Be Alright" by Rob Murphy to name a few. She also plays at hospitals as a volunteer musician once a month for Musicians On Call. Sarah hopes that her music will help people in some way across the world. She is a big believer that music heals and aims to present her music in a way that is relatable for others and can heal any open wounds.

  • DAN ABRAMS, chief legal correspondent for ABC News & author of KENNEDY'S AVENGER
ABOUT DAN ABRAMS AND KENNEDY'S ASSASSIN

The killing of Lee Harvey Oswald and the subsequent trial were the genesis of the Kennedy conspiracy theory complex and, despite no good evidence, polls show that the majority of people still believe there was a conspiracy at play here. There's something uniquely American about conspiracies, and in our current moment, they're more prevalent than ever.

KENNEDY'S AVENGER focuses on the trial for what is still today the most witnessed crime in the history of the world. It called into question how a fair trial could be granted when the jury were witnesses. The trial itself was a veritable circus - book deals were in place for the major players before it began (including for the judge); media hounded the subpoenaed witness, which were a colorful cast of strippers, boxers, police officers and a never-ending line of doctors and psychiatrists; the city of Dallas itself was on trial.

This was the trial that set the standard for every media-heavy trial to follow. Abrams uses the actual trial transcript to show how the proceedings ignited the conspiracy theories, details Ruby's desperate testimony to the Warren Commission, and outlines why Jack Ruby died an innocent man.

Despite having more eyewitnesses than any other crime in history - to this day - few would remember the bizarre trial that followed three months later in Dallas, Texas. How exactly does one defend a man who was seen pulling the trigger in front of millions? And, more important, how did Jack Ruby, who fired point-blank into Oswald live on television, die an innocent man?

This was the first "TV trial" in history and the first in which a verdict was announced on live television. It called into question whether or not a crime's witness is able to server as a juror. It put the very city of Dallas on display to the world and tested whether a fair trial could be had in the deep south.

Together with his co-writer David Fisher, Abrams introduces us to a color cast of characters, including Melvin Belie, Ruby's attorney who ignited the modern medical negligence industry; Henry Wade, who later found eternal fame as the defendant in Roe v. Wade; disgraced boxer Barney Ross; and a never-ending line of police, strippers, psychiatrists, and underworld figures.

    ABOUT DAN ABRAMS

Dan Abrams is the chief legal affairs correspondent for ABC News and host of The Dan Abrams Show: Where Politics Meets the Law on SiriusXM. He also hosts and produces numerous shows for A&E Network. A graduate of Columbia University Law School, he is CEO and founder of Abrams Media, which includes the Law & Crime network. He is the author, with David Fisher, of the New York Times bestsellers John Adams Under Fire, Theodore Roosevelt for the Defense and Lincoln's Last Trial, which received the 2018 Barondess/Lincoln Award. • Stell & Snuggs
“It has meant a strengthening of our souls...and replacing substance with sustenance.”
One sentence printed in the New York Times has revealed a new dimension into the lives of a husband/wife band’s reason for being. Coincidence and serendipity are two words that explain Stell & Snuggs since its inception.

How music can ease the soul and transport us- this sums up the reflective process the two wrapped themselves in as they traded in their separate music careers, and boldly joined, moving on a sailboat and taking their music to oceans and islands. Jubilant, happy, promising, and building music that paints their portrait, sharing a love of freedom, dreaming up sounds they could not produce on their own.

Stell & Snuggs are Christel Astin (flute, uke, vocals) and Jarad Astin (accordion, stompbox, vocals).

This once Brooklyn, NY duo are packed with immediate fun moments, their seasoned musicianship is incredible especially considering the variety of instruments implemented. Their July 2015 release, Vela guides you through an enticing journey of highs and lows, vocals and instrumentals that bind together, and enclose musical elements of Colombian Cumbia, Gypsy, Country, and Brazilian Choro.

While sitting one night at one of their performances, one listener wrote to them in a fan email, “Thank you for the beautiful music that you brought to us all last night, you were both absolutely enchanting.” And Rob Wasserman of the Colorado Daily said this of flutist, Christel Astin, “Her runs and articulations are speedy, but nonetheless possessed of a plaintive soulfulness and verve that reminds the listener of an ecstatic nightingale.”

Their mode of touring transport, a 43 ft C&C Landfall sloop has given them the opportunity of perform in a wide variety of venues, from the creme-de-la-creme to their favorite local hangouts. Here’s a short list of some of their clients:

    Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta (ANTIGUA)
    West Indies Regatta (ST.BARTHS)
    Caribbean Arts Festival (BVIs)
Saint Croix Jump Up Festival (ST.CROIX)
    The Blue Note (NYC)
    Denver People's Music Festival (CO)
    Webster Hall (NYC)

NYC Parks Dept “Music in the Park” Summer series
    The Marlo Thomas Show (NYC)
    Huntington Summer Festival (NY)

In addition to these venues, they are part owners and producers for CueBro Audio Productions, and have produced music for film in a variety of settings. Their client list includes Corona and San Miguel beers, Channel One Productions, Neutralizer Shoes, the film “Unlimited,” and many more.

It’s exemplar, and escalating. This is the aim of Stell & Snuggs, sailing with little impact, toting their music from port to port around the world, with a tune to share.
