John Philip Stevens is an undeniable talent that is making his mark in the music industry. As a vocalist, musician, producer, songwriter and arranger, John Philip is becoming one of the most “sought after” talents of our time.

As a kid, John sang in his church choir and was surrounded by music at an early age. It was then that his journey into music began. Later in life, his vocal gift evolved into a desire to learn piano and music production. This would be the “genesis” of what is now known as “PhilFree Music”!

He's shared many stages and platforms with such notable artists as: Leandria Johnson, J.Moss, Jason Nelson, Vashawn Mitchell and others. He has also served in creative roles as a musician, vocalist or producer for Preashea Hilliard, Gary Mayes, Drea Randle, Doobie Powell, Jennifer Mekel and many others. He also has an extensive body of work.

His discography includes:

Steps to Destiny: Vol 1 - 2011

Wait (single) - 2013

Favor is Better (single) - 2017

2nd Wind - Jan 2018

along with a host of features across various genres such as:

“Enjoy”, “Need to Know”, “What Can I Do” & “Cant Get Enough” by Jeffrey Dennis

“Never Leave Me” by Yaahn Hunter, Jr.

...and more.

Husband, Father of 4 children, Youth Pastor, Educator, actor, comedian and Urban Gospel artist, Keedren Boston, often referred to as “BossTon” began his music career as an R&B singer/rapper but soon laid down the secular mic to pick up the cross. “One day”, Keedren says, “I woke up and realized that I could only remember darkness…It’s hard to see in darkness period, but there’s no darkness like being spiritually blind and that’s what I was.” This marked the beginning of a new and Christ centered life for Keedren.

Keedren is definitely known for his “out-of-the-box” ministry amongst the people in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas and various other cities around the state. Keedren has been blessed to minister across the U.S. and out of the country as well. He has shared stages with artists such as Deitrick Haddon, Earnest Pugh, Wes Morgan, Tasha Page Lockhart, Keith Pringle, Lee Williams and various Christian Hip Hop artists. BossTon toured England in 2009 and 2010 ministering through music to the youth and young adults for the "Christ Up Kingdom" UK Tour. He also ministered throughout New Zealand alongside his great friends from the UK. That trip, “Best of Both Worlds Mission & Tour" (2014) included Pastor Greg Husband, Pastor Paul and Jacqueline Davis. Also included on that tour was one of his best friends, (brother-in-Christ) Greg "Puntin" Cooks.

His freshman album and single entitled “Not About Me” quickly became his mission statement in his commitment to God and his ministry to the world. With the release of his sophomore album entitled “He Changed Me” Keedren felt led to write about how God has changed and delivered him from the ways of his past, and how God is able to do it again and again for anyone who will believe and accept Christ into their life. Keedren is set to release a new EP entitled "Walk On Water" that hopes to inspire others to step out in faith, put their trust in Jesus and get out of the boat of their comfort zone and do what may seem like the impossible; that is to "Walk On Water". He, along side his wife and 4 children serve at The Potters House of North Dallas under the leadership of Bishop Joby and Pastor Sherly Brady.

Keedren continues to travel and minister from city to city and outreach to outreach spreading the message of change and salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was born in Wynne, AR but was raised in Memphis TN. I am the oldest of 3, I have a younger sister (deceased) and a younger brother. I also lost my mother. I attended Central High School (The High School) and Tennessee State University. I have a bachelors degree in Biology/Chemistry. I ran track for the Tennessee Tigerbelles. I am a member of Alpha Phi Omega ( the largest service organization in the World). The main people to influence me where not only my family members other people in my community. I come from a family with a lot military background so somehow I was probably bound to become an officer but I never wanted to join the military, hence the reason I went to college. I was always drawn to the criminal justice system even as a kid.  I did not initially have being a police officer as my first option. Initially I wanted to be a lawyer but after having a chance to do mock trials and other activities in grade school I was turned away. I then turned my focus on the scientific aspect of the criminal just system and wanted to be involved in forensic science DNA analysis, hence my degree. After graduating I found it hard to get into the field as qualifications change and I did not know anyone in the field. After sometimes I was given an idea to become a police officer from a police officer in Memphis TN. I then applied and the rest is history. It was a bumpy road to get where I am today but honestly I would not change anything.

I decided to apply with SAPD because at the time looking at other department it stuck out as the best. I knew I wanted to be in Texas. The application process was an ease and the turnaround was fairly quick. As I was applying for the department I can say there was outside forces that would attempt to hinder my process. While I was in San Antonio for a week someone (many people) broke into my apartment and just about stole everything. I was devastated but it actually made me want to leave and get this career even more. After being accepted I packed my two bags and took the greyhound bus to San Antonio. Little did I know how big San Antonio was compared to Memphis. I did not have a car at the time so I decided maybe its time for me to learn to catch the bus. Let’s just say 1604 is Long! Somehow the word got out that I did not have a stable mode of transportation to and from the academy. I was in class one day and was beckoned out of class, immediately I was terrified trying to remember if I messed up and did something that would merit punishment. However there was a police couple standing outside the door. I was asked questions, I cant remember from being so nervous. The I was handed a key. I immediately denied the key as I knew it wasn’t mine. They then insisted that I take the key and go outside to make sure a vehicle was operable and if so I could use it to get to and from the academy…. It works….. I cried!..... A LOT! From that day people of this department have shown me what being a “brother or sister in blue” really meant.

Through I can not name individually every person or officer who has done more than what their duty calls, I am consistently being influence by wonderful, giving, loving people.
