Brad Deaton is back on the show!  From Walhalla, SC, Brad has been doing comedy for 2 years. He books shows at the Palmetto Distillery in Anderson and at the Oconee Community Theater.  Brad’s style of comedy is a combination of southern charm, contagious stage energy, personal stories, and “oh my god, did he actually just say that?”  In addition to writing and performing stand up comedy, Brad is a musician, TikTok’er, and author.  His children’s book “How To Shave A Zebra” is available on Amazon.  Had a blast on today’s interview.  We talk about a show where we both bombed in front of a deep southern audience, Brad shares a story about a show in Iva, SC at an old strip club w/Ryan Rubin that turned violent, reflections on our early standup, and more.  Check Brad out at the links below, and I hope you enjoy the interview.

Jackie’s Cornbread Casserole Recipe:

1.5 Boxes Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix

1 Can Sweet Corn (get the name brand

1 Can Creamed Corn

1 Cup Sour Cream OR Greek Yogurt

6 Tbs Melted Butter

Garlic Powder, Paprika, Cumin, Pepper

Mix all ingredients well

Pour into an 8x8 greased metal pan

Cook 350 degrees for 50 mins

Amelia Nelson! Amelia is our favorite mom (of 5) slash comic proudly hailing from Marietta (South Carolina, not Georgia).  Now based in Greenville, Amelia has been doing standup comedy for the last 3 years. We’ve known each other in passing for awhile, but this was our first extended conversation, and we had a blast. Hillary Begley joins the show today. Hillary is a talented comedian and actress. Originally from Brevard, NC, Hillary now lives in Asheville. This month marks Hillary’s 10thyear doing standup comedy. She’s best most known for playing Lucy Dickson in the 2018 Netflix movie “Dumplin” starring Jennifer Aniston.  She has toured the country as the star of the Feral Hogs Comedy Tour, and in 2022, she was a featured performer on the Boom Chicago Comedy Festival in Amsterdam. Hillary is great. She has an infectious personality on & off stage. Today, Hilary shares stories of her audition for Dumplin, late night after parties at her apartment where a cat pees in the a viola case, meeting the drummer from STYX, and she describes how she found her confidence as a performer and artist. Tray Diddy Evans joins the show. Tray is kind of an a-hole, but he’s one of the funniest a-holes I know. Tray is from Laurens County, SC, and by day he’s a barber. Travis is 11 years into standup comedy and one of the best comics in Greenville. Travis is hilarious.
