For real, grab your notebooks for this one!!! Maya and Raniesha of VendHER and Compass are two Black women who use their 9-5 jobs to fund their "5-9” passions. Both of the platforms they’ve created encourages Black women to participate in creative forms of investing. Maya and Raniesha invest in the vending machine business and are also real estate investors. They teach people how to start and scale their vending business and they also guide Black women who are first-generation homebuyers through the home buying process. This is done through their consulting services, group economics, and Black wealth empowerment.
WHEW! That interview was FIRE-YERRR. Please tell me that you’re going to start looking up vending machines after this!? If so -- or if you had any other major breakthroughs while listening, be sure to tag me and @_Vendher and let us know your what your biggest takeaways were!

Have you ever thought about getting into the trucking business? If not, you just may be interested after hearing how Ericka Williams got started! Ericka took money she earned from service-based businesses and working as an apartment manager to invest in real estate and trucking. She now manages 1.9 million dollars in assets via over 12 semi trucks, 9 rental properties, and working on a new project called Texas Ground Zero.
My biggest takeaway was having data and systems in place to ensure that your business is always ready for ANYTHING, whether that’s applying for a loan, seeing where your expenses are, how profitable you are and so much more. What was your takeaway? Tag me and Ericka on social media and let us know!

Ashley Copeland is the twenty-something host of Stacks and the City, the podcast dedicated to showing women how to build wealth and increase their net worth. Raised by a single mother in rural North Carolina, Ashley learned early about how money can affect your way of life. She opened her first investment account at age 21 and purchased her first investment home at 24. As a result of her work, Ashley amassed a six-figure net worth without ever earning a six-figure salary!
This episode with Ashley is SO good. I love the way she breaks down the difference between salary and net worth. My biggest takeaway from this episode is that it doesn’t matter how much money you make - you can still build wealth! Let us know what YOUR biggest takeaway was by tagging us both on Instagram.

Ree Farrington is the owner and inventor of the natural hair styling tool called The Coil Brush. As a wife and mother of three that wears multiple hats on a daily basis, adding inventor and entrepreneur to the list was an unexpected surprise. In less than a year's time and with no background in engineering, she turned a silly idea into a top-selling product.
It was so great talking to Ree about launching a new product line from the ground up! I learned so much about product development and even where to look for legal resources online. I know you’ll learn a lot too, so be sure to tag us with your top takeaways from this episode!

On today’s episode, I am talking about being laid off, applying for unemployment, getting a new job, wanting to go to therapy, and rental updates. In this episode I am very transparent about what’s going on with my money, being laid off for the first time, how I was too prideful to apply to unemployment and what made me finally apply. Honestly, I didn't want to talk about a lot of these things but I wanted to show that even when you think people have it all together... sometimes they don't and it's okay! That’s life and life happens. Sometimes you have to put your pride aside and ask for help. Money has so many emotions tied to it and it’s okay to feel the feels. We got this!

Our guest for this episode, Cora Miller, is a perfect example of using the times to your advantage. When looking for a natural hair care product for her young son, Cora couldn't find anything that catered to young Black and brown boys. So she made her own! Shortly after that experience, she founded Young King Hair Care. In this episode, she talks about the manufacturing process, her vision for retail, branding, her super fast growth and so much more. If you are wondering how to get your product out there to the masses this episode IS FOR YOU!
I learned so much from Cora about the product creation process. My biggest takeaway was starting with how you want to finish! Cora knew she wanted to get into retail so that’s exactly how she started. Tag us with your top takeaway on Instagram, and enjoy this episode!

Today Mark Jones II is bringing some real estate GEMS to the I Don’t Do Budgets show! Mark is an LA native and and witnessed the real estate equity boom prior to the bubble of 2007-2008. He knew then as he knows now that wealth is built in real estate equity. In 2015 he househacked his first single family home in LA County, which allowed him to Live rent-free and to use the equity he received from his first house to get his Los Angeles triplex. He now owns a triplex near the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and has a brand called Livin' Rent Free where he teaches people how they too can live free.
If you’ve ever been interested in the concept of living rent-free, you do NOT want to miss this one. Mark gives us so many good recommendations and got me seriously thinking about eliminating my own biggest expense: rent.
