Hey, everyone! Today I'm talking to Deandra McDonald and did we have a conversation! Deandra is a teacher-turned-real estate investor who started buying property at the young age of 23. She was able to retire from her teaching at 28 to do rentals full time.
Deandra drops SO many gems in our talk! She breaks down the steps that led to her investing at a young age as well as how to best manage your properties. She also shares so much about the ways in which she maximizes her profit margins while still providing affordable housing to her community. Deandra was a wealth of knowledge and so amazing to talk to! Hope you can learn as much as I did from her!

Today I'm talking to Michael O. Benjamin, an engineer, speaker, and author. He literally walked us through step by step how he paid off $30K in one year!! He gave so many good tips on getting in control of your finances, and also gave us a peek into how he wrote his book "The Power of Yet".
I took so much away from this conversation with Michael. Growth vs. Fixed Mindset, overcoming your fears, getting a mentor, believing, planning, executing… I mean do I need to keep going!? Let Michael and I know your top 3 takeaways by tagging us on social media. Also, if you grab Michael's book, please let me know! I would LOVE to talk through the book with someone. :D

Sonia Lewis is CEO of an award-winning business, The Student Loan Doctor LLC. Sonia is considered the people's expert for all matters related to student loan debt repayment, and has over 9 years of practical higher education and financial aid experience. The Student Loan Doctor LLC has been recognized as the first African American and woman owned student loan repayment company in the country. Sonia and I met back in September of 2018 at FinCon and I'm SOO excited to bring this episode to your speakers today.
I could've talked to Sonia for hours at a time. Her energy is like a magnet and she will have you laughing so hard! One of my biggest takeaways from this episode was to stay ready so you don't ever have to GET ready. I know I say this all the time but it was such a validation to hear how Sonia was already set up to receive all of the new clients that came her way from The Shade Room! Now, I want you to share your top takeaways by tagging us both on Instagram!

Hey hey, everyone! We are only one episode away from the year anniversary of the I Don't Do Budgets Podcast! I'm so happy to have you all with me on this journey and I can't wait to share our anniversary episode with you all!
This week on the show we talk to the founder of Black And Mobile, David Cabello. Black And Mobile is a delivery service that services Black-owned restaurants. Currently operating in Philadelphia, David talks about how he made tough choices in order to start his business and support his community. He talks about the importance of branding, promotion and building a following.
David is truly a self-made man. He designed his own branding, and built his own website and delivery app. He breaks down how the delivery business works and what moves he's looking to make next. I loved David's determination and drive to succeed at all costs. I hope you can be motivated by our conversation!

Hey, hey, hey! Welcome to our first show for the month of February. We're just a couple of episodes away from the I Don't Do Budgets one year anniversary!
On this week's show I talk to Shakayla Houston, the founder of Sweet Greens Vegan. She is all about making positive changes and helping African-Americans understand veganism. I loved talking to her about how she turned her lifestyle change into a health conscious influencer brand that specializes in cookbooks, diets and more.
The conversation we had was so fun and full of laughter. I found myself learning so much about how veganism doesn't have to be as difficult as it sounds. She is a wealth of information on vegan brands, alternative meals, and more. If you're looking for info on how to eat vegan cheaply or how to navigate family dinners with food restrictions, listen in!

I am ECSTATIC to be recording my first episode in my new Atlanta apartment… and even better, I've got a veeery special guest on the show today: my grandma! If you missed my Mother's Day episode with my mom, check out Episode 14 after you're done with this one.
Today, my grandma and I are talking about what she learned about money growing up, and how she handled raising a large family and becoming a mother at sixteen. She is such a strong woman and hard worker, and even though our opinions on finance differ somewhat, we still have a lot in common!
Let me know what your favorite piece of advice my grandma shared by tagging me on IG @idontdobudgets!

Byron Sellers and Sharnice Williams are a power couple that found themselves in the world of mobile home investing. In 2017, Byron was let go from his job and turned to driving for Lyft to make ends meet. While on that job, he discovered a podcast that opened his eyes to mobile home investing. After introducing the concept to Sharnice, the two began a journey that led to the founding of their company, Mobile Home Elite Investors.
This was the first time we've had two people in the guest chair in the same show, so it was a really great and positive experience hearing their journey. I was floored by how quickly they were able to turn a profit from their mobile homes, making back more than three times their initial investment costs.
I was so inspired by their journey it caused me to look deeper into mobile home investing myself. So sit back and enjoy this really awesome couple!
