I met Calie because her basketball team was looking for players, and I was looking for a way to play basketball. Now, more than five years later, I am completely O B S E S S E D with the team and with Calie. You will never meet a more welcoming person, she made Thursday night exercise one of the great joys of my life.

In this episode I call my work friend, Dan, and I tell him a joke.

Dan is the accountant at the place where I work most of the year, and you just couldn't ask for a better person to spend time with. He taught me how to make coffee, helped me start salary sacrificing to my superannuation (hello, responsible adult), and he lets me talk at him about books and TV even when he's busy.

One time I was at a bar with Marina and some other friends, and there was a girl sitting outside on the steps crying. Everybody else assumed it was none of their business, but Marina sat down beside her, talked with her quietly for half an hour, and eventually convinced her to come inside and play board games with us for the rest of the night. The sad girl ended up having an excellent time, and I had it officially confirmed that Marina is one of the best.
