Mother kills husband with boiling water after hearing claims he sexually abused her children
A British mother has been sentenced to life in prison for killing her husband with a boiling mixture of water and sugar after hearing claims that he'd sexually abused her two children.

The Liverpool Echo reports 59-year-old Corinna Smith, of Neston, will serve a minimum of 12 years before she's eligible for parole. Prosecutors said she became enraged after her daughter accused her husband, 80-year-old Michael Baines, of sexually abusing her and her brother “for many years when they were children.”

Smith was accused of filling a bucket with boiling water, mixing in three bags of sugar and pouring it over him while he was in bed. Prosecutors said the sugar made the liquid “more viscous, thicker and stickier, so that it stays on the skin and causes greater damage.”

Baines reportedly suffered serious burns over 36% of his body. He died a month later on August 18, 2020.

Smith argued she should not be found guilty of murder and should have been charged with manslaughter due to a loss of control. A jury found her guilty of murder last month.

“We cannot and do not say whether these allegations made about Michael Baines are true or not…but that is not the issue for you in this case because the prosecution certainly accept that these allegations were made, and that Corinna Baines believed them to be true at the time that she caused the fatal injuries to Michael,” a prosecutor said.

Cette homogénéisation est caractérisée par quatre composantes. En premier lieu, la sublimation de la sexualité reproductive et procréative ainsi que la sacralisation et la fétichisation des relations hétérosexuelles afin d'intégrer la domination sexuelle des hommes dans la fondation du pouvoir politique post-colonial5.

En second lieu, l'essentialisation et la racialisation de la sexualité indigène africaine, c'est-à-dire la formulation de la théorie d'une sexualité africaine originelle purement et naturellement hétérosexuelle. Cette théorie réécrit l'histoire indigène en n'incluant que le plaisir hétérosexuel et invente la figure du Muntu, un homme africain hétérosexuel et libidineux5.

En troisième lieu, la ségrégation et l'altérisation symbolique des individus homosexuels. Ainsi, l'homosexualité est dépeinte comme la conséquence d'une aliénation causée par le monde occidental. Elle est représentée comme un phénomène non africain, une maladie, un vestige du colonialisme européen, une forme de néocolonialisme et un mal que les Blancs auraient apporté en Afrique noire. Par voie de conséquence, les personnes homosexuelles, tels que les hommes gais et les femmes lesbiennes, sont vues comme que des agents impérialistes de l'Occident et comme que des Africains déracinés et assimilés5.
