IA MIX SERIES

INTERVIEW + TRACKLIST > inverted-audio.com/mix/myn

Punching in at number 315 in our mix series, Myn lays down a gutsy hour-long audio trip, enveloping us in a pitch-black nightly scenario where hammering techno rubs shoulders with droney acid whorls, unhinged industrial, trap-infused hardcore and freewheeling Italo out the fiercest Giallo club sequence.

INTERVIEW + TRACKLIST > inverted-audio.com/mix/maelstrom

@maelstrom drops the hammer down badman style, gracing us with a helluva hour-long sonic trip. Spanning from old-school classics (Dopplereffekt, The Hacker…) to present-time sweat-inducers (Norwell, Morphology, Hermeth…), it’s an angry tsunami of paced up electro madness, untamed acid and wild machine funk that’s heading over. Prepare for impact.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/tala-drum-corps

Showing off his knack for carving out lushly nuanced, immersive alien ambiences, @taladrumcorps lays down a mix full of post-nu agey '90s synthetic lustre, oddball ambient house dynamics and further leftfield acid divagations.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/dont-dj

Ahead of Under The Desert Stars, a unique experimental music event taking place within the alien landscape of the Moroccan desert between 27 – 29 September, @dont-dj-1 serves up over an hour of eerie, mystique-imbued groove eclecticism, ranging from spaced-out techno to sweat-inducing dancehall, through traditional Middle-Eastern rhythms and other downtempo oddities. Lock in and dream away.

Under The Desert Stars features some of the finest acts in underground experimental electronic music today including; Ario (Astral Industries), Don’t DJ, Jane Fitz, Kangding Ray, Neel, Marco Shuttle, The Transcendance Orchestra (Anthony Child aka Surgeon & Daniel Bean) and many more will join forces to soundtrack a celestial journey from sunrise to sunset.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/benoit-b

@benoitb eases us into a world of eerie synth-pop textures, hypno-industrial oddities, electroid dynamics and hip-hop breaks gone astray. The result is a supremely delectable head trip to get loose to, 100% true to the man's retro-futuristic Bauhausian blends. Grab a pint, breathe out, submerge.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/gramrcy

Ahead of our first residency at Zur Klappe on 10 August in Berlin, we caught up with @gramrcy to find out more about his life current in Berlin and the @peachdiscs imprint he co-runs with @shanticeleste. We also cast our eyes back to his musical beginnings and the moments that have helped shape his genre-busting musical path.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/ewan-jansen-jimpster

With @ewanjansen's latest number freshly out on @jimpster imprint @freerangerecords this felt like the perfect occasion to ask Ewan for a mix. Used to performing live exclusively, he opted for a distinct way of doing it: Ewan selected a solid batch of cuts - including a lot of unheard gems from his vaults, for Jimpster to pick from and smoothly weave together. Pull out the shades, beach towel and sunscreen, summer vibes are on.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/roza-terenzi

Going in with over an hour of full-blast electro, alien analogue jazz and old school jungle epics, @roza-terenzi will have you zoning out far away from this galaxy in a flash.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/trypheme

@trypheme steps up to our mix series with a much compelling and seamless hour trip, spanning across ever-changing audioscapes; from IDM to hip-hop, through electronica and new beat-ish dynamics. To top it all we caught up with Tiphaine and had a quick fire chat involving studio environment, favourite gear and more.

INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/1800haightstreet

Fresh off their outstanding release on @lobster-theremin black label series, @1800haightstreet step up in our mix series to give us a taste of the invigoratingly fresh techno breeze that's been blowing across Vancouver's dance floors as of late.
