Jerry continues to enjoy time with Carol, his wife of almost 40 years, and their two adult sons, Jeremy and Jonathan. He loves travel, hiking and the outdoors. He is honored to be a guest speaker at various colleges and loves to help others succeed. He has written two books, one of which we discuss today: “Be Great ...Before It’s Two Late.”

Chef Lisa Dahl is one of the country’s leading female chefs and restaurateurs who has pioneered the culinary scene in Sedona, Ariz. for the past 20 years. Dahl is the executive chef and owner of four outstanding restaurants in Northern Arizona’s red rock country where she has earned international acclaim for Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante Italiano, Cucina Rustica, Pisa Lisa, Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill and Butterfly Burger. This week, she launched Dahl-to-Door national meal delivery.

After shedding her life in the Bay Area and a career in the fashion industry following the loss of her son Justin, Dahl sought healing and moved to Sedona, a town famous for its spiritual energy and restorative powers. Once settled, she unearthed her long-held passion for cooking, one that she and Justin shared. Honoring Justin’s memory is part of each of her restaurants.

A James Beard House-featured chef, Dahl is widely credited for Sedona’s emergence as a national “foodie destination.” As a self-taught chef, Dahl was the first to introduce fine dining to Sedona in the late ‘90s with the opening of Dahl & Di Luca and has since expanded to become the largest restaurant group in the area with accolades spanning the culinary spectrum.

Dahl’s cooking style is diverse and includes high-end traditional Italian, rustic Mediterranean, South American-inspired and wood-fired pizza, considered among the best in Arizona. She’s also a grill master and just won Arizona’s “2018 Burger Battle” giving her the opportunity to advance to the World Food Championships.

Chef Dahl and her restaurants have been featured on The Food Network, Travel + Leisure, USA Today, The New York Times, Wine Spectator, Travel Channel, Huffington Post, MSN.com and Marie Claire, to name a few.

Today, Dahl Restaurant Group welcomes nearly 400,000 guests annually across all four restaurants and employs close to 250 people, many of whom have been with the company for over 15 years. Each of Dahl’s restaurants continue to garner prestigious recognition and accolades. Twelve consecutive years of Wine Spectator awards decorate the walls of Cucina Rustica and Dahl and Di Luca.

What We’re Craving: Home-Cooked Meal Kits

Chef Ed Harris is originally from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. He was exposed to various culinary experiences prior to his family moving to Brooklyn NY. After graduating high school, he studied culinary arts at the Art Institute of New York City. When his career landed him at Buddakan restaurant in NYC he developed a passion for Asian cuisine.

During his five years there he trained with a master dim sum chef and perfected the art of cooking dumpling as well as making Asian sauces and fried rice. He was a junior sous-chef at Buddakan in 2010 when he was invited to compete on the Food Network’s hit cooking show, “Chopped.” After winning Season 4 of Chopped, many doors for Chef Ed, including a chance to compete on “Iron Chef International.”

Chef Ed Harris moved to Atlanta in 2012 and started his own consulting firm “Chef Life Consulting.” Through his company he does private in-home dinners and restaurant consulting to train staff and update menus.

He also has monthly pop up dinner under the name “Oriyaky” which is spin on his wife’s name and an ode to his love for Asian cuisine. These dinners appeal to those who would like to have personal interaction with a chef, creative menus and interesting dining companions.

“From an early age, I obsessively studied the pages of Seventeen Magazine fantasizing about the fashion and the life it brought with it.  As a college student in NYC and Paris, examining the store windows of Fifth Avenue in NYC and Avenue Montaigne in Paris became as much of a daily priority as my course work in classic literature. I’ve been hooked on fashion and the self-empowerment it brings with it ever since!

I was born in a working-class town outside of Boston and was raised by traditional Greek parents who always made me feel like the world was mine to conquer. I knew I needed to be educated and earned multiple degrees at New York University and Babson College. I knew I needed to work hard and honed my skills as an entrepreneur by starting and building multiple businesses. The biggest lesson was the realization that how I dressed was an important arsenal when it came to building the life I dreamed of. 

As a life-long fashion lover, entrepreneur and dreamer, I set out to create a new concept in traditional consignment shopping where designer fashion is sourced from the best of the past to collections from the most exciting emerging designers on the fashion scene, all sourced from all corners of the globe and offered at discounted prices. 

Almost six years after opening the first location, our brand boasts four locations with two in Scottsdale, one in Dallas and a fourth on famed Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles. My personal mantras and advice to clients are:  Dress for the life you want, take some risks, think outside of the box, have the courage to be different and buy it when you see it!
