In Episode 28 of Idea Diary - Today, I talk about why Youtube is a great creative launch pad to help build your creative business doing what ever you want. You can be as unique as you want, and although it could take YEARS of posting a video everyday to actually start to make money, once you figure out the “Youtube as income game,” it seems to really pay off, and be super enjoyable to do. I suggestion you go watch these three Youtubers videos. They are all at different subscriber levels, but all three seem to be getting value out of being on Youtube.

In Episode 27 of Idea Diary - Today, I talk about reading the book,“Like a Lampshade In a Whorehouse: My Life In Comedy” by Phyllis Diller. She famously has talked about the book, “The Magic of Believing” by Claude M. Bristol, and said the book changed her life, and helped her get everything she ever dreamed for herself.

Phyllis was born in 1917. When she was 35 years old she had her first thought that she would like to be a professional comedian. Even though she was the bread-winner of her family, because her husband refused to work, she quit a $5000 a year job from a radio station as an advertising copy writer. Shortly after she quit her job with no backup plan, she had her first professional comedy gig on March, 7, 1955.

She was a touring comedian, but at 39 years old, she was at such a low point she had to put her young children in the care of their grandmother, and had to borrow money from her oldest son to pay $60 in rent in 1958. By 1960, she was a very popular touring comedian, getting movie roles, and had television appearances, and by 1962, she was making several thousand dollars a week being a comedian.

Later in life she was able to tour with a symphony orchestra playing as a concert pianist, she also became a professional painter, and after two failed marriages, fell in love with her true love at 68 years old.

Phyllis performed 125 club gigs in her 70’s, while also starring in television and movie rolls. She worked well into her 90’s, and it

seems like Phyllis never stopped working until the day she passed in 2012 at a nice age of 95 years old.

In Episode 26 of Idea Diary - Today, I talk about my July decision to meditate everyday 30 minutes - 1 hour, and the clarity it’s actually bringing me. I’ve started doing the daily 15-minute podcast which feels totally doable in an hour or less a day, and incorporated Morning Pages from the book, “The Artist Way” by Julia Cameron. I like to meditate using my own imagination. One technique I use is by Burt Goldman called “Quantum Jumping.” I also love to start my meditation with the Bjork song, “Bachelorette,” because the images in the video directed my Michel Gondry really gets my imagination started. I feel like these three things done daily has had some effect on my clarity. I’m doing this until January 2021. Want to join me in this challenge? It would be great to know if anyone else has some positive effects too!

In Episode 23 of Idea Diary - Today, I talk about my new one sheet organizational tool that I created for business investor groups. I've organized an idea that I had for an investor P&L type of one sheet that could help organize expectations, goals in general, and be a revenue idea generating type of tool to make profits for businesses that have a group of investors. I feel like if it's filled out it could help with expectations, onboarding new people, and avoid partner confusing with intentions of how they fit in.

My 5 Marketing Action Steps for 2020:

1. WORD-OF-MOUTH SHAREABLE PRODUCT OR SERVICE (Have this ready to go before doing anything else)  

2. COMMUNITY COLLABS (Have 5-10 Collaborations that build community)

4. ADVERTISING PLAN & BURN RATE (Digital, Traditional, Platforms?) (Acceptable Cash Burn Rate?)  

5.SOCIAL MEDIA PLAN (Daily, Weekly, Monthly?) (Can your social media be monitized?) (Specific Platform Focused)

Also, an other tool is have a social media plan that is MONITIZED while you build you business’ advertising plan. Figure out how to make money with your social media, don’t just use it for free advertising.
