  • Isn’t It Time You Owned It?

It is natural to want to justify yourself --but it's not always godly. In fact, it's a real trap of the enemy and can stunt your spiritual growth.

In this week's podcast, Daphne and Angie talk about "owning it." In other words, even when you're right, you can be wrong if strife was the end result. And strife cannot manifest without a tongue.

The Bible says our tongue is set on fire by hell, but the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace (who own it). And one of the best examples that illustrates this is found in Psalm 51.

  • What the Churched & Unchurched Have in Common

"Knowing your identity isn't automatic." --Jay Hoskins
This is such a true statement! In this week's podcast, Daphne and Angie have the privilege of hosting Rev. Jay & Tammy Hoskins on Identity Advantage. As you'll hear in this episode, they were each raised in dramatically different homes yet they had this in common: Knowing your identity isn't automatic.

2 Timothy 1:9 says God saved us and called us all with a holy calling, not according to our works (the things we've done or not done) but according to His own purpose and grace. This is good news! But it also helps us understand we all start the same.

Fortunately, we also all have the same help! The Holy Spirit enlightens our understanding, strengthens our knowledge, and gives us tangible application through God's Word to grow in our understanding of who we are in Christ. Rev. Jay & Tammy's testimonies and encouragement will bless and help you!

  • The Melody in My Heart Defines My Life

Have you ever wondered why the birds sing? What are they singing about? Who are they singing to? The Bible says creation glorifies God, so it's safe to assume the birds are singing to their Creator.

In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about the power of music. Psalm 40:1-3 says God put a new song in our heart after salvation and in the story of Saul and David, worship music was the only thing that caused the distressing spirit on Saul to leave him.

But more than just a tune or a favorite style, music has the power to help you overcome in these last days. The New Testament describes several things that will help us stay strong in evil times--one of which is the melody in your heart.Click here to Download Episode

  • What You See is What You Get

How do you see things? This is an important question because, according to Matthew 6:22, it determines everything else in your life!

In this week's podcast, Daphne and Angie discuss "WSYIWYG" meaning, "What you see is what you get..." It's not just a clever saying. It's a truth that finds itself weaved into scripture.

Too many people are unhappy with life in general but don't realize: "Life has no remote. You must get up and change it yourself." In other words, no matter what's been handed to you, it is possible to change the outcome! Jesus said, "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body (life) will be full of darkness..." (Matthew 6:22-23).

So, how are you seeing things?Click here to Download Episode

  • How To Recognize What Doesn’t Belong

When you were a child you may have thought a dandelion was a pretty flower, but as you grew older, you soon learned it is a weed that doesn't belong in your landscaped yard.

In the same way, there are thoughts (often planted as seeds) that don't belong in your life. In this episode, Daphne and Angie discuss:

How to deal with your thoughts
Why what you're meditating on is important
Continuing to believe a lie even after truth has been made known

Philippians 4:8 reminds us to meditate on only what is good for our lives --and learn to recognize what's not!Click here to Download Episode

  • What Would You Gain from Being Vulnerable?

Have you ever watched the TV show on TLC called, "Love, Lust, or Run"? In short, it's about women who have extreme makeup, wardrobes, and personas that are looking for a change. But at one point, they must take all that off and stand before a mirror in a vulnerable state.

The word vulnerable means exposed. And in this episode, Daphne and Angie talk about the importance of allowing ourselves to be exposed before God. In fact, this is the only way to continue growing and maturing in our faith.

2 Corinthians 13:5 says, "Examine yourselves... Test yourselves..." And several places in the Book of Psalms, it says, "Examine me O God..." So isn't it time you let God help you?Click here to Download Episode

  • How To Tell if You’re On the Right Path

    Remember this:
There is a position of righteousness and a path of righteousness.

You were given all the rights and privileges of an heir when you gave your heart to Jesus through salvation. But the path of life still lies before you. Sometimes people find themselves in left field or at a crossroad. Then what?

In this episode, Daphne and Angie talk about how to get back on the path, how to find the path, and how to know which road to choose when you're stuck and not moving because of unknowns.

Psalms 119:105 says, "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." God will always give you and enough light (and mercy) to find our way.Click here to Download Episode

  • Be Prepared Before the Battle

We would all do good to remember that we learn scriptures in times of preparation so the scriptures will speak to us during our times of battle!

In this week's episode, Daphne and Angie enjoyed having special guest, Pastor Ben Delay (Daphne's oldest son) in the studio with them. As you will hear, Pastor Ben is a living testimony of being prepared before the battle. His story of how he learned his true identity in Christ will inspire and motivate you.

As a youth pastor, he has also learned the Word and the Spirit changes the heart of every person who sits under it. And as the Bible says, "God is not mocked--whatever a man sows, that shall he reap" (Galatians 6:7).

  • Are You a Fan or a Follower?

Last week, Daphne and Angie unknowingly both went to different NBA games on their spring break trips. That stirred an interesting conversation about the differences between being a fan or a follower.

So in this week's episode, they discuss the dreaded fruit of the Spirit called "self-control" and it's biblical meaning of "allowing the real you to call the shots." In other words, one difference between being a fan or a follower is your commitment to "Christ in you."

When dealing with emotions (which are often hard to ignore when you're a fan of something), it's good to note that every emotion has a voice. And that voice is important! It either makes you or breaks you. It either builds up your identity in Christ or it diminishes who you truly are.Click here to Download Episode

  • Zingers & Epiphanies

It's probably more common to say vision or revelation, or better yet, "ah-ha!" might best describe those moments when something hits you in a profound way. Today we decided to call them zingers and epiphanies. But no matter what you want to call it, God likes to give us unique ways of seeing Truth.

In this week's episode, Daphne and Angie talk about a few recent tweets and shares they've had on social media and where their revelations came from. The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:1, "...I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord..." In other words, he too had moments of profound insight that had to be shared.

Because what's the good of getting a revelation if you don't share your ah-ha with someone else? It may just help them too!Click here to Download Episode
