Idling In The Impala | a ride through SPN fandom and fanfiction

Sandra and Kasey have been teasing and misleading with the double-entendre episode titles long enough. It’s time! After a comment from a listener, they decided to take the plunge and give you all their takes on whether certain SPN characters bottom, top, switch… for realsies! Well, for realsies in a fictional sense.

Disclaimer: This episode is for fun and entertainment purposes and includes Sandra and Kasey’s thoughts on FICTIONAL characters and sexual dynamics/positions. Heed the rest of the disclaimers in the episode intro. They’ll totally get it if you have to skip this one.

Sandra and Kasey had an Idling Book Club moment and… brace yourself… Kasey had notes! Like, prepared notes and everything. You’re intrigued now, aren’t you?

Do you enjoy paranormal romance? How about something inspired by a little television show called Supernatural? Are you a lover of Wincest or J2 fanfic? Then this author interview is for you.

Laura Rye and Bailey R. Hansen are co-authors of the “A Monster By Any Other Name” Series. Sandra and Kasey read the first book in the series, “Freak Camp,” before the September 7th release of Book 4, “Fortress.”

(Note: “Fortress” was originally scheduled to release September 1st if there’s any confusion when listening.)

Sandra and Kasey had an amazing discussion with Laura and Bailey about fandom, fanfic, and the road to publishing original fiction.

It’s another Tags and Tropes episode where Sandra and Kasey focus on a category or aspect of fanfiction they may or may not have delved into before. The tag up for discussion is S*x Pollen/Curse and its fic cousin F*** or Die. (Episodes always come with an explicit content rating but be aware this is definitely an NSFW listen.)

Podfic Narration Time – “Demon Deals” by Jld71

Jen is delving deep into the “Winchesters: We Need Therapy” territory with this story. There’s a lot of angst and whump but it’s a great take on how much one is willing to sacrifice for another person’s happiness.

Please visit the fic on AO3 and give it a kudo and comment - it deserves a ton of praise!

Podfic Narration Time – “Samnesia” by PrincessMisery86

Are you ready for a legit romance with all the fluff, angst, hurt/comfort… and a smattering of smut, with one Sam Winchester?

The care and time Stacey spent on this beautifully crafted story are evident right from the start. It checks all the boxes for me regarding a great romance with a happily ever after.

Please visit the fic on AO3 and give it a kudo and comment (and bask in the beautiful graphic headers by @talesmaniac89 and art by @slytherkins) - it deserves a ton of praise!
