IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT WITH GRANT NAPEAR

Last night's Dodgers/Cardinals game was a classic!  Too bad many people didn't see the finish.  How does a pitchers duel with a combined 12 hits last 4;15?  And MLB runs their Play Ball campaign during the game, but the problem is most kids in the eastern third of the country are asleep.  Great game yes, but MLB needs to figure this out!

The New York Yankees season can be told in the 1st inning of last night's game vs Boston.  Giancarlo Stanton jogs out of the box because he thought he hit a homer.  The voice of the Yankees John Sterling botched the call as bad as one can. Then in the bottom of the inning Gerrit Cole who only makes 36 million a year gives up a two run homer.  Cole has become an average pitcher, because he can't cheat anymore.  That is a microcosm of the Yankees season.

On today's show I talk about my weekend in Tuscaloosa and being at the Alabama-Ole Miss game.  It was an amazing experience.  The NFL season is 4 weeks in and as always there is a major overreaction to quarterback play especially rookies.  Trey Lance did not play well in relief of Jimmy Garoppolo Sunday against the Seahawks.  For some reason fans are worried.  It's ridiculous!  I talk about the other rookie quarterbacks as well.  Then I end with playoff baseball talk.  It begins tonight as the Yankees play the Red Sox!

Jacksonville Head Coach Urban Meyer gets the award for stupidest move of the month and we are still in the first week.  Fist he doesn't travel back with the team after losing to the Bengals Thursday night.  On Friday a video surfaces of a female dancing on his lap followed by another video of Meyer putting his hand on her bottom.  The 57 year old married man apologized to his family, team and owner....ya think!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!

College Football needs to do something about their replay system.  It is ridiculous.  It disrupts the flow and rhythm of the game.  Why does every questionable thing need to be reviewed.  No wonder why the games takes forever to play.  One more thing, is there anyone out there who thinks anyone could be Alabama or Georgia?   The difference between them and the rest of the country is significant.

This episode marks the 1st anniversary for this podcast.  Thank you all very much for your support!  On today's show I talk about some of my great sports memories including taking over the bar tending duties to serve the New York Rangers all night at a bar in Rye, New York.  I also talk about attending basketball games at Duke and Kansas.  Perhaps number one on the list is being at the Masters three years ago.  Enjoy!

New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson announced succession plans for the teams.  She wants the teams to stay in Nola.  She is also donating much of her estate to charity in the area.  She is a great lady!  With that being said the pelicans need to move.  New Orleans isn't a basketball town.  It's all about football.  The city doesn't support the Pels.  Move the team to Seattle, or another market that would support it!
