Ignorance Is This

Renowned 'good' movie franchise Cloverfield has released a BRAND NEW film exclusively on Netflix a few weeks ago which was a big surprise to everybody. With the previous installments being held in very high regards by critics and fans, Paradox had big shoes to fill. While Oliver had seen the others, the 'Beyonce-Style' surprise drop left him just as ignorant about this new flick as Scott this week. With no expectations other than Oliver's previous knowledge of the franchise, can Paradox hold up to the high regard? Or would we prefer there be a hole in the spaceship that is the Cloverfield franchise where Paradox can be shot out into space to be long forgotten?

And as always we cap off the show with some fun games. In this episode: The Fruit is Acute!

This week we watched 'Not Another Marvel Movie' haha nah jks we watched the highly anticipated 'Black Panther', one of Scott's favourite superheroes. The only thing Oliver knew about this one was that it featured a killer soundtrack by Kendrick Lamar, and that in a shockingly weird coincidence, the same actor playing the titular character in this movie, also appeared in 'Captain America: Civil War' as separate character also named The Black Panther. We also check out the list of movies coming in 2018 to decide what we're excited for, what we're going to give a pass on, and what will surely disappoint us. Hope you enjoy!

It's 2018 and we look forward to the new year by thinking about our 6.9 favourite movies of last year. It's also Oscar season, baby! Which means complaining about nominations and contemplating what should get Best Picture out of those who did. We discuss 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' a dark comedy starring Francis McDormand, Sam Rockwell, and Woody Harrelson. Definitely check it out if you're interested in some quality viewing content, or any of the other deserving best picture nominations - The Shape of Water, Get Out, Dunkirk, Lady Bird, The Post, Call Me By Your Name, and Phantom Thread (I can speak highly of the first four)!

It's finally here! The Last Jedi was quite rightly the most anticipated film of 2017. We get to see Luke Bloody Skywalker again! What a good time.

But was it really a good time?

To celebrate a new Star Wars we have a guest on the show this week! Introducing Josh Martin!

WARNING: THIS EPISODE HAS VERY SHOCKING AUDIO. WE PROMISE THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!

In this one, the Iggy boys talk at length about the newest Hollywood book adaptation: Agatha Christie's 1934 classic 'Murder on the Orient Express'. With an incredible ensemble cast including the likes of Daisy Ridley, Judi Dench, Willem Dafoe and Michelle Pfeiffer and of course the phenomenal source material, surely there's no way HOLLYWOOD could fuck this, right?
Nah it's fine.

It's been a long year since Batman vs Superman and while Oliver doesn't really seem to care, Scott is still salty. In this special episode of Ignorance is This, Scott and Oliver THROW OUT the show format and talk about Justice League 2017 from start to finish. To talk about it for that long must mean it's good, right?

Oliver and Scott were/are big Captain Underpants fans as kids. With the release of the next big Dreamworks picture "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie", can they manage to contain their excitement? (Yes, this episode is 1 month overdue). But the question remains, will their nostalgia-driven expectations be met? Or will Dreamworks manage to fuck this up?

And as always, we cap off the show with a few fun segments. This week: Critically Acclaimed or Critically Lame? and Pet Peeves.

THOR IS BACK BABY in his unanimously best installment yet. But does that mean it's up to the standards of our favourite pod-boys?

In this one, Scott and Oliver crack once and for all what makes a movie worthy of peoples times, have a real long discussion about the latest Marvel flick and OLIVER turns the tides and plays The Fruit Is Acute with Scott rather than vice versa - a first in Iggy's history!

For the first time in Iggy's history, the boys' topic for an episode is not one but TWO films! Scott and Oliver critically analyse Ridley Scott's 'masterpieces(?) Alien and its sequel, Aliens. Scott has been a little critical of long films from the 80s before and notoriously does not like horror films. Sounds like a recipe for disaster...or is it?

Also, Oliver introduces a new segment: 'Oliver's Observations!', and as always, we cap off the show with a couple games. This week: Critical Acclaim or Critically Lame? and Pet Peeves

After watching Blade Runner (1982) last week, Scott and Oliver now feel READY to take on the highly anticipated sequel - Blade Runner 2049.

Scott and Oli decide to document their trip to the cinemas this time, and manage to go on unexpected romp of an adventure themselves!
