Stereotypes – we’ve been boxed into them, and we’ve done the same to others. Is stereotyping good? 

Do we like or it is something we should do away with?  For our Season 2 ender, Canada crew Jill crowdsourced some of the most common stereotypes for Filipinos living abroad. We came up with a good list and talked about them in this episode. This one is also a sort of back to basics for us – no guests, no gimmicks - just the 3 of us chatting and laughing and dishing out our thoughts about a certain topic, like when we first started.  We are very grateful to the support you, our Ihawaiians, have been giving us, and we hope that you continue to join us on our journey as we continue to explore the colorful life of living abroad.

AFAM. A Foreigner Assigned in Manila.  

For a show about foreigners living abroad, it was only a matter of time until we had an AFAM guest in our podcast. But this episode’s special invitee is not just any other AFAM. Originally from Canada, Darcy Lalonde has been investing in the Philippines for almost two decades now, focusing on the BPO, information technology and tourism sectors. He is deeply passionate about Philippines and local Filipino talents. We went on a journey with Markian as he relayed his experience living in several countries and founding Smile Squad.
