In a world where, especially in Western culture, one of the most "romanticized" traits we praise and see as success is this idea of having high self esteem. I think it is important to ask ourselves: What does loving yourself even mean? How do you catch a glimpse of the inner-loved self in the midst of all the chaos?
This week's ikala Podcast episode, David Gonzales will be joined by Ashley Marie Rose. Ashley is a performer, singer and a dancer. At a young age, she started using musical theater as a form of art to love herself after being bullied. By her own definition, "Art heals all our wounds."
Her personal journey taught her to be self-aware and become the creator of her health and fitness. Both CrossFit and art have been instrumental in her new identity as a mental-health survivor.
Disclaimer: In this podcast episode, the hosts David and Ashley discuss an important topic: mental health & addiction. The format of this episode includes a warning that people still in the grips of addiction & who have mental health issues, are welcome to skip this podcast episode.
