Some of the most well-known verses in the sermon on the mount are from Matthew 7:13-14. In this sermon, Tim considers the voice of Christ and his sayings from Matthew 7. Where Christ spoke words that are serious and sobering and yet both glorious at the same time.
If there's any work of God that should characterize every person's conversion, it should be the destruction of that person's pride. We're proud by nature and God has to break our pride in saving us. And not only at conversion, but also in the Christian life as a whole, and especially in preparation for ministry. The last person the Church needs in ministry is a person with pride.
Suffering can be a very difficult time but we also grow to know the Lord more. The Lord’s trying of our faith in the fire is for our own good–it often all the more makes us not forget the Lord. John 17:3 – And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
One of my friends told another friend, "Don't worry, Manny will be back, he does this (gets religious) from time to time. We've seen him go through these little Jesus highs." Brethren, it breaks my heart so much that I stained the name of Christ so much, as an unbeliever, claiming to know Him but walking in ungodly sin, staining the name of Christ.
Are you a thankful person or do you constantly grumble at the providences of God in your life? In this Bible study, Tim considers six thoughts on being a person who is full of thanksgiving in the Lord. As Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 - give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Believer, do you realize how concerned God the Father is to further your fruitfulness? Even if your own pastors neglect you, God the Father will never neglect to prune you when it is needed.
In this video, Tim deals with the question: How do we live in the world without being worldly?
0:00 - Considering the question.
11:26 - What does "world" mean?
20:50 - What about using world in a negative sense?
32:04 - How do I know the world when I see it?
43:42 - When John tells us to not love the world he has in mind the system of the world that is opposed to God.
51:26 - We tend to not see the worldliness in our own selves. We often justify our thinking under the banner of "Christian liberty".
56:45 - Tim sharing an example of worldliness
1:05:00 - The cares of the world.
1:21:43 - What about government regulations? In what ways is being antigovernment us actually being worldly?
1:27:22 - Getting the vaccine in order to reach out to unbelievers?
Psalm 24:7-8 - Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!
The clips of Paul Washer preaching are from his sermon, "The Greatest Words in All of Scripture." The clips of Bob Jennings are from his sermon, "Why Jesus Christ Died."
Most of the video footage was recorded in 2012 when I, James Jennings, and my wife were on our honeymoon in Colorado and visited Trail Ridge Road. Shortly after that time, I made this video but never finished editing it. I have since then lost the raw Premiere Profiles, so I am putting it up as it was edited nine years ago. I trust it encouraged your soul to hear about Christ's victory on the Cross and his ascension into glory.
Kingdom math is 5 Loaves + 2 Fish - 20,000 Ate = 12 Baskets Leftover. Are you convinced that such a math equation works? We can be so prone to doubt that we forget the Lord's ability to provide. The Lord gives this account of the loaves four times. It is a constant reminder to us of the Lord's provision.
John 6:44 says, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day." Does this verse teach that God drags people kicking and screaming into heaven? And that those who want to come cannot come? No!
