Much of the advancement of the Church takes place as God's people gather to pray. But there are some ways to kill a prayer meeting. Oh, may God spare our prayer meetings from them!
In this segment from the question and answer session at the 2020 Fellowship Conference New York the speakers were asked: Who are the men who have had the greatest influence in your life?
Speakers: Don Currin, Tim Conway, & Mack Tomlinson.
Tim is planning yet again to take questions from those in the church who are in the conference call, and also questions that are submitted in the YouTube chat. Because of this format, we will primarily focus on questions that 1) do not require a long period of time to answer, 2) and are deemed profitable.
Should Christians keep a clean home and be orderly in order to show hospitality and be considerate of others? Is there a biblical basis for this? Does the cleanliness of someone’s property or belongings give any indication to someone’s spiritual life?
A few of the questions dealt with tonight:
Does God have humor?
Who should hand out the elements for the Lord’s Supper?
What does 2 John 11 mean about greeting people and taking part in their wicked works?
What is the place for anointing oil?
“If your husband doesn’t take that teaching role is it ok I share with him the truth and our son? I’ve noticed it’s helped him pray more me doing this.”
A strong indication of spiritual declension is a decreased appetite in Bible reading. How is your appetite for the Word of God?
As dark as things are in our day, God can bring revival again as He's done in the past. In this clip Mack shares about how God used George Whitefield, Duncan Campbell, Bill McLeod, and others.
In this question and answer session, Tim deals with things surrounding the current events of the death of George Floyd and the ongoing protests.
Some people will often say, "I am glad Christianity works for you!" But the Bible does not teach that there is one thing right for you and one thing that is right for me. There is absolute truth and Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved from the power and penalty of your sin. If you refuse to take the one way to heaven, you will not have life.
1 – What does it mean that the last will be first and the first will be last? Matthew 19:30 and 20:16.
2 – Permanently afraid of marriage because women have to submit. Should I be single forever?
3 – Tim, is there anything you’ve taught us, but then as an afterthought, felt you’d done so error? Or simply grew in your knowledge of the Lord resulting in changed view/opinion?
4 – I did become a Christian recently. I also attend a bible study recently. We have studied Deuteronomy 23:18. I was bothered by it. Because I realized that while I did not earn money from prostitution. I did get my degree as a teacher from my parent’s salary from a job in a casino. My question is. Is it still good to pursue my degree?
5 – What does 3 John 1:7 mean? “For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles.”
