This week, I sit down with Matt Thornton. Matt is a father, an entrepreneur, an addict, and an advocate for recovery. In September, Matt will celebrate 11 years of sobriety. I asked Matt to come on the podcast and talk to me about his journey in hopes of being able to offer a look into the life of someone who was once in a bad place but managed to get out. We talk about how his addiction started, being incarcerated, getting into recovery, empathy, and how he continues to work to be better each and every day. I’m so thankful to Matt for feeling comfortable enough to open up to me in this way. Before we sat down to record, we were complete strangers.
