This week I sat down with Jesse Florentino. Jesse has been doing martial arts for close to 20 years. From being a Florida State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champion in highschool, to winning his match at his first KASAI tournament, he has a resume to show for it. Luckily for me, he is also one of my Jiu Jitsu teachers at Stout Training Pittsburgh, and an all around awesome guy. I knew I wanted to get him in the chair to talk about how someone becomes that devoted and obsessed with martial arts. We talk about when he started martial arts and how he's competed all through his life. He discusses going to school at Pitt for Psych, and his first job out of college where he ran the fireworks and pyrotechnics for things like Pittsburgh’s Fourth of July celebration and Electric Forest 👀. We talk about how he got in with Stout, and his goal of become a State Trooper. I really enjoyed talking with Jesse, and it was awesome to hear about his upbringing. This was an awesome episode, even if you’re not into martial arts or Jiu Jitsu or anything like that. Take a listen and enjoy.
