Welcome to another episode of I’ll Show You Mine! This week James is showing Elyse ‘Burnout’ from 2002. Developed by Criterion Games and published by Acclaim Entertainment, Burnout is the first entry of a racing franchise that has become known for its spectacular crashes and high-risk mechanics. Though the game was initially released for PlayStation 2 in late 2001, the GameCube version (the one we played) came out a few months later in 2002.
Join us as we continue the Summer of Speed (tmtmtm) with the most difficult game in the Burnout franchise, talk about what exactly makes this game tough and frustrating, and ultimately decide if the fun moments outweigh the frustration.
Our next episode will be August 6th, when Elyse shows James ‘Rock-a-Doodle’ from 1991.
Our theme song is by us! James Sparkman and Elyse Wietstock.

Also sorry that the raw energy of this episode seemed to attract the most background animal noises of any we’ve recorded, dogs and cats going nuts but we made it through.

Welcome to another episode of I’ll Show You Mine! This week Elyse is showing James ‘Down with Love’, an homage to the “no-sex” sex comedies of the early 60s, such as the Doris Day/Rock Hudson romcoms like ‘Pillow Talk’, starring Renée Zellweger as modern woman author Barbara Novak, and Ewan McGregor as Catcher Block, the “ladies’ man, man’s man, man-about-town” playboy magazine writer. When Barbara writes a book called ‘Down with Love’, she hopes for a cover story by Catcher Block, but when his lothario tendencies get the better of him, the hijinks begin!
Join us as we discuss thinking this movie was a musical because of the incredibly active and playful score, decide if Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor are Hot or Not, and become scandalized at how overtly horny everyone and everything is.
Our next episode will be March 26th, when James shows Elyse ‘Lumines’ for the PSP.
