This week, the crew covered some topics that showcased better days for some and some not. Ol' Dirty Bastard's son Young Dirty is taking his father's estate into the 21st century, with the launch of the "Dirty Coin." Young Dirty has teamed with Link Media Partners, a business development and marketing services firm for the music industry to release the ‘Dirty Coin’, a cryptocurrency and blockchain technology-based products for the Estate’s future music projects. If you’ll recall, Ross was found unresponsive inside his Miami home last Thursday morning, reportedly nodding his head and “slobbering at the mouth.” He was rushed to a local hospital for suspected pneumonia, however, it turned out to be a heart-related issue. The rapper was placed in ICU and hooked up to an ECMO, a machine which essentially serves as “life support” by taking over all respiratory and heart functions. Several reports from Rick Ross’ camp and family say that the situation was nowhere near that severe. However, all is well that ends well. Rick Ross reportedly returned home in the early hours of Monday morning and is receiving continued care at his home. Get well Rozay! The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) has released a new report showing that deaths resulting from being hit by a car while texting are the highest they’ve been in 33 years. They report, “The number of pedestrian fatalities increased 27 percent from 2007 to 2016,” even though simultaneously, “all other traffic deaths decreased by 14 percent.” Pedestrian deaths are increasing overall having risen from 11 percent in 2007 to 16 percent in 2016. They now account for a larger proportion of traffic-related deaths since 1984. Will Smith and Jaden Smith are out here doing some amazing things #Roommates! Tuesday marks day 1,412 since the people of Flint, Mich. have had clean, safe water in their homes and it’s clear that the Smith’s, along with several others, have had enough! Will and Jaden have an eco-friendly water company that has donated 9,2000 bottles of water to the city. What’s amazing about this is that they’re going to continue to donate on a monthly basis until lead levels in Flint public schools are below the federal threshold.
