Continuing where we last left off in this sixth-grader's hand-drawn sci-fi horror epic, the last surviving humans have launched their last desperate attack on the giant organism that had assimilated all life on Earth. Next week will see the thrilling conclusion of the saga as well as the Goon reactions!

Do you ever look at your old drawings from when you were a kid and wonder "how the hell did I come up with that"? Well, a Something Awful poster with a name that I am unwilling to print in the show notes did that, and thankfully scanned and shared it with the Goons so they could as well. Buckle up because pain is the curse of consciousness and planet Earth is in for a world of hurt.

Sorry for the late upload, life has been pretty hectic here at IFTI so our next full episode had to be pushed back a week. Luckily Winslow stepped up and we have our first Winslow Presents episode of the show, where we take a break from talking about Something Awful and the Goons to read something from his archives. Today he's reading a rambling, pages-long run-on paragraph from a trucker's manifest explaining why they are no longer allowed to deliver to Walmart. Jay also discusses some of current works-in-progress.
Tune in next week for your next regularly-scheduled episode!

Special guest Kole Ross from Duckfeed.tv joins us for an exploration of that time a goon bought a bunch of land in Hawaii and then convinced a bunch of other goons to fly over on their own dime and work the land. Watch dreams of escaping the rat race turn into the intimidating reality of attempting agriculture on a patch of land that is cartoonishly unwelcoming and hostile.

A break from format, instead of one continuous saga we read a grab bag of funny and weird posts with commentary and discussion in between. This grab bag is themed around goons talking about their misadventures in relationships, dating, and sex so this is definitely an IFTI After Dark episode. Come for the goal-oriented sandwich, stay for the cum bunny.

In summer of 2011, Something Awful's fitness subforum hosted a thread obsessed with the concept of a diet low in carbohydrates not only as a way of losing weight but as a miracle cure for everything that ailed them. Then in fall of 2011, a previously healthy 21 year-old goon was prescribed statins by his doctor due to eating nothing but peanut butter, eggs, bacon, and hot dogs for weeks at the encouragement of the low-carb thread.
This episode is not an attack on the concept of a low-carb diet, it is a case study in the Goon tendency to let their geeky love of optimizing and minmaxing spill over into other aspects of their lives with disastrous results. And you better believe the low-carbers have some incredibly funny and unique takes on vegetarians!

The deceptive allure of the mystery box is something everyone has to learn to innoculate themselves from at one point or another. For most of us it is a metaphorical mystery box that confounds. like a TV show that keep stringing you along season after season without providing answer. But for an unfortunate few goons in the summer of 2010 it was a literal mystery box that was dangled in front of them like Lucy holding the football in front of Charlie Brown and assuring him that this time she would really let him kick it.

Resuming from last episode, Ben Solovey's restoration of Manos: The Hands of Fate is underway but the nefarious Rupert Munch continues to use legal threats and alleged subterfuge to keep the restoration of Manos: The Hands of Fate from eclipsing his own project. Will he succeed? Will the backers receive their Blu-Rays? Why did Super Hornio Brothers come up? All this and more in the exciting conclusion!

The Internet changed everything. Every single aspect of modern life, whether it is commerce, fashion, war, dating, porn, religion, agriculture, art, or crime, was revolutionized when the Internet…
Hosted by Jay Brandstetter and Winslow Dumaine, this podcast explores how the culture of the Internet was created, how it changed its users, and how those users went on to influence the Internet we use today. With a combined five decades of experiences on different sides of the Internet, our diverse and insightful takes on the subjects are neither hopelessly blackpilled nor blindly futurist, but fresh, strange, and informative.
Jay Brandstetter is an internet historian and online content creator. In addition to a lifetime of firsthand research on the Something Awful forums and elsewhere, he created the popular Twitter account "crazy ass moments in Something Awful history".
Winslow Dumaine is a comedian and illustrator out of Chicago. He’s opened for Kyle Kinane, Dave Ross, and Sam Tallent, and toured with Derek Sheen. His debut work of fiction is The Tarot Restless, a hand illustrated deck of tarot cards and a book of short stories. He also created The Restless, a card game set during the final days of human extinction. If you want to know more about his game development and follow along with his future projects, join Winslow’s Discord here.
