Jesse Sumner has been a consistent voice on the Mat Su Borough Assembly standing for conservative policies. As a lifelong Valley resident and successful business owner, Jesse has proven he can work with other people to get things down.
His opponent, David Eastman, has proven he knows how to alienate and divide. That is not the way to pass pro family, pro life legislation. And that is why Jesse Sumner has our endorsement in this Primary Election.
Jesse is my guest today on Family Matters and I hope you can tune in.

With big endorsements coming from a former Anchorage Republican Mayor, a sizable cadre of resource development leaders as well as party leadership within the District he is running in, Tom McKay's race has attracted a lot of attention.
Incumbent Chuck Kopp was installed as Rules Chair following a drawn out battle among Republicans last legislative session that ended with Kopp and several other Republicans linking arms with Democrats to form a coalition led by long-time Democrat Bryce Edgmon.
That decision effectively killed all pro-life, pro-family issues Alaska Family Council works on. It has also reverberated long after the session ended and is a key campaign theme in McKay's and others efforts to unseat Republicans who joined with Democrats.
Tom McKay is my guest today on Family Matters. I hope you can join us.

I'm thrilled to have my good friend Alaska Attorney General Kevin Clarkson on Family Matters today.
In addition to discussing what he has done to address balancing religious liberty and public safety during this COVID crisis, we'll talk about his decision to join several attorneys general across the country in a brief about Lt. General Michael Flynn and how his case has brought to light issues on separation of powers.
We'll also spend a few minutes on another case of national significance involving the right of religious groups to operate freely and have "full autonomy in choosing the individuals who teach their beliefs and embody their faith."
It's sure to be a great conversation and I hope you can listen in.

Very few organizations have as much impact on saving innocent human life than Americans United for Life. Not surprisingly, the Washington Post called them "the most significant anti-abortion group you've never heard of."
Steven Aden is their Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel and is my guest today on Family Matters. Aden is a highly experienced litigator, having appeared in court against Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry dozens of times and appointed by the attorneys general of six states to defend prolife laws.
There is much to be celebrated in the pro-life movement today and AUL is a part of nearly every piece of good news.

The Bible is filled with Scripture about how we are to interact with our neighbors. We are to love them as ourselves, to please them, to build them up, to do no harm and to not covet their house or their spouse.
The list goes on.
Jesus tells us in the parable of the Good Samaritan that our neighbor is often someone we may not readily identify with. In every neighborhood, there are people we may be hesitant to approach much less love as ourselves.
Dave Runyon, who heads up CityUnite in Denver, Colorado has thought long and hard about this issue and he's written a book called The Art of Neighboring. I'll chat with Dave today on Family Matters about being a good neighbor now during our current state of "hunkering down" and beyond. I hope you can join us.
