This lecture discusses key ideas from the 18th century philosopher Immanuel Kant's work of ethics, The Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals.

Specifically it examines his discussion of what he terms a "dialectic" of reason near the end of the work. this dialectic has to do with the freedom of the human rational will - which is an idea of reason - and the law-bound necessity of nature - which is a concept of the understanding.
