WHAT ARE BOUNDARIES?Boundaries are the instructions for how something valuable works best.
Boundaries Do Three Things:They define what stays in, not just what stays out.A garden fence isn’t there to punish people; it’s there so the garden can actually grow.They make closeness possible. It’s how you tell people, “This is how you can be close to me without burning me out.”It’s hospitality, not hostility.A good host sets the table, the time, and the house rules so everyone can relax.They make self-respect visible.It’s not what you tell other people to do; it’s what you tell yourself you will do to stay healthy, clear, and generous.OUR DEFINITION GOING FORWARDA boundary is a personal standard of behavior that becomes a matter of conscience.
SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 5:15–18 (ESV)15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.SIX KEY TEACHING POINTSVERSE 15 — LIVE YOUR LIFE ON PURPOSE, NOT ON A WHIM.Paul is saying out loud: Live your life on purpose, not on a whim!
VERSE 16 — WHY?Because the days are evil.
VERSE 17 — DON’T BE FOOLISH.VERSE 17 — UNDERSTAND GOD’S WILL.I want you to understand what God’s will for your life is.
VERSE 18 — AN ILLUSTRATION OF ABOUNDARYDo not get drunk, because that leads to debauchery.
Debauchery = “Extreme indulgence that results in a loss of control.”
VERSE 18 — INSTEAD, BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT.Instead of giving yourself over to something that leads to a loss of control, be filled with the Spirit.

I am sending you!” “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” Judges 6:14–15
Many women want to know: Do you cherish and value me today?Many men want to know: Do you respect, admire and believe inme today?TRUTH #2: In Christ, you have everything you need to fight and win.The Lord turned to him [Gideon] and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” Judges 6:14
The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, theIsraelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength.” Judges 7:2
Truth#3: With God, the way forward often starts with a step backward.While each man held his position around the camp, all the Midianites ran, crying out as they fled. Judges 7:21
Every warrior’s greatest fear is failure.Every warrior’s greatest pain is regret.Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to standyour ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

Truth:If you’re not fishing, you’re not following.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. And teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
“IF you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But IF you give up your life for my sake and forthe sake of the Good News, you will find true life.”
