But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves,lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love,u nforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash,conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying itspower. Have nothing to do with such people.

3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.

17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. 20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. 22 Be merciful to those who doubt;

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences havebeen seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know thetruth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.6 If you point thesethings out to the brothers and sisters,[a] you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7 Have nothing to do with godlessmyths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

18 Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. 19 These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us. 20 But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit,[a] and all of you know the truth. 21 So I am writing to you not because you don’tknow the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. 22 And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ.[b] Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist.[c] 23 Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to itsbuildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars andrumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines andearthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only theFather. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a] 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holyand godly lives. 2 PETER 33: 8-11

Live Godly and Holy lives

Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wroteyou with the wisdom that God gave him. 2 Peter 33:15

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:1-11

Jesus chose forgiveness over judgement

Without discipleship, Christianity doesn’t survive

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

“Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:25-31

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus called everyone to be disciples, regular folks like you and me.

May you find where God wants you to plug into the discipleship pipeline and may you, forever and always, be covered in the dust of the Rabbi, Jesus!

Giving guidance or direction

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things, grow up into him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Ephesians 4:15

”Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:12-15

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach, and admonish one another with allwisdom.” Colossians 3:16

“Accept” Means to receive someone into your life and to see them as valuable

…the word that Jesus most used with his disciples is this word meno, it means “abide.”

Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

Luke 5:29-31

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ Jesus accepted you, in order that you might bring praise to God.”

Romans 15:7

“God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

“This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: Christ Jesus came into the world to savesinners.”

Encouragement” comes from two different Greek words{

Literally means to pour confidence or to pour courage into them. En-courage

(What words?)

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night…But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, whoare asleep, but let us be awake and sober.”

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Let’s spend more time encouraging each other, and more time thinking about Eternity!

Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else,5 for each one should carry their own load.”

Truth 1. When bearing one another’s burdens, our love for God fuels our love toward others

Truth 2. When bearing one another’s burdens, we honor others above ourselves

Burden-bearing is when your pain lives in my heart; it’s the language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see, because when you carry someone’s burden, you resemble Jesus.

Let’s move toward becoming a “bearing one-anothers burden church”
