  • When You’re Too Busy for What Matters
As he [Jesus] walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.Mark 2:14 NIV
The greatest enemy to the life you want may be the life that you’re living.
TRUTH: If we follow an unrushed Jesus, we should be living an unrushed life.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
    Why are we so rushed?
We are either running from something or to something.
The solution is not  more time.
The solution is more of what matters most.
MY PRAYER: God, help me walk slowly enough to experience Jesus fully and love people deeply.
Be present in the moment. Choose what’s important. Eliminate what’s not. Sense God’s presence and recognize His voice

Guardrail a personal standard of behavior that becomes a matter of Conscience
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1st Corinthians 6:18-20

  • Guardrails in Relationships
Guardrail a personal standard of behavior that becomes a matter of Conscience
    Intro
Why are relationships important?-Friends can actually determine the direction and the quality of your life.Proverbs 13:20“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”Definition of fool- a fool is a person who knows the difference between right and wrong but doesn’t care
“Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself”Proverbs 26:4
Guardrails for relationships from Jeff & Others:
your friend group isn’t moving in the direction you want your life to be moving in.when you catch yourself pretending to be somebody other than who you know you are.You feel pressure to compromise something you really thought you believed inYou hear yourself saying, I’ll go but I won’t participate. When you hope the people you care about most don’t find out where you’ve been or who you’ve been with.
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself thru Love.Gal 5:6
Truth: Never confuse compassion with Wisdom
Question: Will you do what you know you need to do with what you just heard?

  • Guardrails
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.Ephesians 5:15-18 NIV
