You’ve heard of someone having anorexia, but have you ever heard of intimacy anorexia? Our guest for this edition of the podcast is Dr. Douglas Weiss from Heart to Heart Counseling in Colorado Springs. We will be exploring the topic of intimacy anorexia and how it results in relationships that are marked by pain and loneliness.
Intimacy anorexia is a relationship disorder characterized by a lack of emotional, physical and spiritual intimacy in the relationship. It occurs when someone actively withholds emotional, spiritual, and sexual intimacy from their spouse or partner.
In this podcast, Dr. Weiss will help you:
Do you and your wife have a different view of what good communication looks like in marriage? Communication is one of the most important tools to help you build a strong marriage relationship. The busyness of life and personality differences between you and your wife may make it difficult for effective communication to take place.
In this episode, we will speak with Matthew Jacobson – the author of 100 Words of Affirmation Your Wife Needs to Hear. Matthew will speak to us about:
“Just be a man!” How many times have we heard this said before? The truth is, many men are hurting. The view of “tough guy” masculinity is preventing so many from expressing what is going on inside their hearts and mind.
Jason Wilson experienced the murders of his two older brothers, a verbally harsh and absent father, and his mother spiralled into depression. He had been raised with one view of what it means to be a man, but his decision to acknowledge his emotions is what made him the man and leader he is today.
In this podcast, Jason Wilson will help us understand how God wants men to process their emotions. Discover the power, love, and self-control it takes to cry like a man.
Jason Wilson is the founder and CEO of Yunion, and he has over 14 years of experience in training and developing young black men. Under his leadership, Yunion has effectively reached more than 10,000 youth and young adults in Metro Detroit.

When Richard first met Brittni he had no idea she had been featured in over 300 adult films and left the industry after becoming a Christian. Brittni knew he would need to know about her past if they were to have an honest relationship but was afraid of his response. Many people struggle coming to terms with their partners' past, but this was on a different level than most.
This is the incredible story of two very brave individuals who worked through their past and are living to the fullest today.
Over 50,000 people have watched our This Is Me TV episode featuring the story of Brittni and Richard. We follow up with them to see how their journey has continued.

Related Links and Resources:We may not even identify ourselves as fatherless, but both physical and emotional fatherlessness promote low self-worth, which also brings about unhealthy relationships. At the heart of the matter, a father helps a man answer the biggest question of all, “Dad, do I have what it takes?”
We sit down with Jonathan Lewis to talk about his story. When His father was in distress while scuba diving, Jonathan couldn’t save him, and his father drowned. “I had no strength left, and I could not get him to the surface. My lungs were full of water, and I was almost drowning myself. So, I let him go. When you let go of someone who is your whole world – how do you come back from that?”
Jonathan shares his journey through grief to healing. His realization of our sonship in Jesus and the purpose that comes from knowing God is for you.
In this live recording from the Disruptive Edmonton conference, Gavin teaches about the power of prayer. He explores the hindrances that prevent us from praying, and the disciplines required to weave it into our everyday lives. Placing prayer at the top of our activity list and then praying is one of the most disruptive, powerful things we can do.
In his last year of high school, Mike Gordon gave his life to Christ on a mission trip in what was considered the most dangerous city in the world at that time. Years before that decision, his parents broke up, and he was kicked out of his house with a garbage bag when he was 14. He spent years walking the broad road until he was invited to a church event which is deeply connected to everything he does today in ministry.
Mike has now been in ministry for 16 years, and has become one of the most booked speakers in North America with over 2500 speaking engagements.
